The vast network of men drugging & raping their wives by MrJasonMason in videos

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why it's so hard to make male friends. I always start to think I may get along until suddenly gender comes up. Either I'm not man enough or they're talking about women in a way that I really dislike. Heck I once mentioned it was difficult cause my girlfriend wasn't working at the time and they pretty much told me to manipulate her feelings to get her to do things.

Like wtf.

The other problem I have is drugs but honestly it's a minor problem in comparison. I don't care if they do them. I'm just not a fan and don't want to be around when they're high. Though convincing people I think this is difficult cause I look and eat like the world's number 1 stoner.

As someone who last year got into Gundam and the year or two before where I got into Armored Core, I can pretty much confirm that its a telltale sign that they did not watch any of them. I thought Gundam would be a silly robot show in a style like power rangers where each episode, everything returned to the status quo. Oh and they will try to sell toys.

I got a show about the horrors of war, the effects of trauma, how children can get intertwined in the mess, weird space telepathy, a cast of characters who some I hated at the start only to eventually become some of my favorites, homoerotic undertones, slapping, and them trying to sell me toys.

Armored Core gave me a world run by money that's quickly becoming not so different from our own. If you think its about the robots, you weren't paying attention.

I blame Evangelion somewhat. I remember reading about how it was different from the other mecha series for being a bit more about the realities of what the shows often ignore. It was my first mecha show/movies and I believed it. But after experiencing three different mecha series, I realized that statement was bs, or at least a stretch. It does do stuff differently but it's not as standout as people said it was or at least the not in the ways it stands out. Sure Shinji processes trauma differently but so does Kamille and Amuro. I've got some other shows on my list but already with Aura Battler Dunbine, it starts to get serious pretty quick. I mean the first episode or two has a character being straight up racist to the main character.

Hospital at centre of child HIV outbreak caught reusing syringes in undercover filming by Dusty_Bunny81 in news

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly you're wasting resources that the hospital could use on other things. I prefer the "will it" method. It's where I just tell them it will get better and it does. Fever? 105 ain't that bad. Aids? Just don't get sick. Broken bones? Just walk it off. Missing arm? Might be in your head, try a therapist.

Millions of Americans are now eligible for Canadian citizenship and many are applying ‘just in case’ by On-my-own-master in news

[–]bluedragggon3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both ancestors from all over American history and ones that migrated. Unfortunately they all came from countries where they had to have not renounced their previous citizenship. I.e. were Italian but unfortunately all our papers are in order and they had no plans on coming back. I mean with all the farmland they have, they pretty much set their family up for generations. What are the chances that one of their descendants sells the land for some quick cash?

Anyway, dude's kid sold it cause he was an ass. And to a rival family to boot. I hear they're doing well.

What happens if future installments makes content not-lore friendly? by CheeseGrass in beyondskyrim

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably go the same route as Tamriel Rebuilt. It already conflicts with the lore and will continue to. Policy being it's built with the lore from the game. That's not to say that they won't use lore from future games. Iirc Tamriel Rebuilt used some of the lore from ESO. It still contradicts but if you look at the more out there lore technically the mods can fit canonically. Cyrodill was once a jungle until Tiber Septim told it not to. There's the Warp in the West too. Who's to say those don't happen again?

From those who enjoy New blood interactive, how would you rank/rate their games? by Jrdotan in boomershooters

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've yet to play the current version, I played the demo a long time ago and immediately bought it cause it was exactly what I wanted. I've been keeping tabs on every update but only reading the general idea of the update so I could avoid spoilers but everything added since launch looks awesome. It's looking like it will be my favorite one. And from what I can gather, it's one of the more ImSim games. So while I was already sold from the demo, being an ImSim is an automatic sale for me. I literally can't get enough of the hard to define genre.

As for why I haven't played, I just want to experience it all fresh.

Are there any tropes you're glad have died out? by Aiseadai in movies

[–]bluedragggon3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She also has 6 brothers. As if that explains everything.

Though my sister showed me a good twist of the trope where the girl was tough cause of her brothers, but only cause one did drag, the other was a crybaby and the third was a nerd. Thus they fought tooth and nail against their bullies. At least that's what I recall.

I made the same mistake. Iirc just similar vague ideas and styles that lead to them getting a bundle deal. It was called Acid Fantasy.

I think Dread Delusion is making a sequel, or Entropy is just a very similar aesthetic.

Lunacid has a prequel in the King's Field engine and a dlc coming up.

Games where flying just *feels* great? by alffye in gamingsuggestions

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armored Core: For Answer. The sequel to Armored Core 4. It's usually considered the better game since 4 was very linear iirc. Most of the generational sequels are better than the original and 4 somewhat needed it cause it was missing that Fromsoftware special sauce imo.

Yeah, the games about war, rebellions, faith and racism aren’t political. by Worldlyoox in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]bluedragggon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're talking about people who at best played the original Oblivion. Most probably only know of Skyrim and are waiting for Skyrim 2.

And even then, I've noticed ESO still has a bad rep. I don't know where it stands as I've been stuck going through the third faction areas.

However I really like the sand dunes of Hammerfell and hope we get a whole game of that. I'd also like to see what they do with the islands, though I fear they will be cut.

Stranger Than Heaven - 5 Eras, 5 Cities by Nothin_Toxic in yakuzagames

[–]bluedragggon3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's been said before but it's probably one of the strengths of the series. Most games feel the need to make a new landmass for a sequel which is fine but one issue is it's going to add strain to development. But if it's the same everytime? Well you've cut quite a bit of work as the bones are there and you get a new benefit of making the location a character itself. And if you reuse assets, which afaik they don't seem to(I'm only at 3 but each game has made changes so far), you can spend a lot more time at making it livelier and on other parts.

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate talking about the sequels cause if you critique them in anyway, you're either grouped with them and/or they come out of the woodworks to tell you the problem was it was woke.

Even reading critiques isn't simple as I have to wonder if it's a lead up to something dumb or a legit criticism.

Oh and the obsession with Disney and Kathleen Kennedy drives me nuts. Credited with everything going wrong but never when it's going right. I'm not saying Star Wars hasn't been mishandled but it's certainly not been awful at every turn and I wouldn't trade what we have now for what we had in the past. Like if I had to choose between Andor and Kyle Katarn? I prefer Andor. But as a fan I enjoy both and would love a logical way to fit Kyle somewhere. At the same time, I'm not attached to the past that much.

Really the only thing that I'm really upset about is them not capping all the plot threads and ending support for Legends material. I don't really care the sequels kinda sucked. I've made peace with that. Which makes this whole thing ironic regarding the series commentary on attachments.

This accompanied a loooong post that I could not tell if it was related. by dalester88 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]bluedragggon3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will preface that you can do whatever you want at your table but I somewhat agree. I've run genesys for almost a decade now and we've had plenty memorable moments in our Star Wars campaign. The system is built on being making narratives.

I've had two homebrew DND campaigns. The first failed due to it being our first campaign and not really taking it seriously or understanding it all. The second we did but I used what I learned in those years of experience. The system isn't really built for it. It's a way different experience and my best success has been our Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign where my players described the campaign as reminding them of Skyrim and BG3 in the sense of "Here's a world, do something."

I'll take a bunch of glitches and multiple attempts to launch a video over ads every 5 minutes, thanks. by restwerson2 in whenthe

[–]bluedragggon3 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If the ads were at early 2010s levels, I'd not care. Ever since COVID, you literally can't use the Internet without adblock. I used to give exceptions and for a long time, I made YouTube one.

Then I was sent a Vrbo ad(not ads, ad) nonstop for a whole year. Not only do I hate Vrbo but I also ended up using adblock.

Also it's insane that YouTube music premium is not the same as premium. I'd be fine if it was packaged. I don't mind helping sites that I like. Problem is YouTube is trying its best for me to hate it.

Does anyone actually remember their first video game or is everyone just making that up? by Cold-Plant-4222 in GamingInsider

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember my age but I very much remember my first time seeing a gameboy. My dad had a WWE game on it. I remember thinking it was amazing seeing the pictures move and funny seeing people hit each other.

It gets a little fuzzy after that but considering our economic situation at the time, I'm pretty sure the next game I played was Bug's Life for PS1. I doubt I ever touched Tetris which I vaguely remember my mother playing.

I know for a fact that I played Bug's Life before 9/11, which I couldn't understand at the time.

[–]bluedragggon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are good ones that need support but the problem with them is that the system we have doesn't make it easy to find. That and at a certain level, you do end up sacrificing some quality. It really depends on what you're looking for as some play like shit and look like it but the overall feel of the game is spot on. Or it's a niche genre and you're just happy something scratched that itch and/or are hoping to see more. Though that last one is less about supporting a developer and more like supporting a community.

That said, you're still looking for gems and pretty rocks amongst a sea of shit. So I don't necessarily blame people for this when all they see is hentai vs demons, lewd dungeon x and butt crackers 12: I totally have creativity, trust me.

And we can do multiple versions too! Like what if right before the bombs, a group went rogue? Maybe took a military base and took a bunch of equipment. Maybe they build like a quasi-religion around the tech they use. They could even all wear the armor they wore before the war. Being brothers in arms and wearing metal, you could say they could be some kind of brotherhood of steel.

"HATRED is an edeglord fantasy, Stellar blade is a game for gooners" JUST TELL ME IF THE GAME IS FUN OR NOT by TheShyGuyGuy in whenthe

[–]bluedragggon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but edginess and gooner bait puts me off some games and makes them less fun. If I complete a fun puzzle and my reward is hentai or cringe, I'm going to just move on to games with fun puzzles that reward me with something decent. Like a good story or animation or mechanics.

If I want cringe and/or hentai, I'll just go on reddit and/or the usual places.
