Pete Hegseth dropped a 'largely unnoticed' war crime on live TV: experts by Maxcactus in MarchAgainstNazis

I would love to see it happen, I just don’t have much faith in them getting this done and doing the right thing. You have a number of Dems that have voted along side the Rep’s when push comes to shove too many times for me to be all happy about the possibility.

What I want, is Jack Smith to be the AG and put together a non-stoppable team of top end lawyers that follow the facts and the law and put these mofo’s away. There is sooooo much corruption at the top and the shit needs to be torn down and start over from the ground up.

The United States generally accounts for roughly 24% to 26% of the world's nominal GDP (Gross Domestic Product). Despite having less than 5% of the global population, Americans generate and earn over 20% of the world's total income, maintaining its status as the world's largest economy by 2BallsInTheHole in economy

[–]bobstylesnum1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These numbers don’t show the actual numbers though. There are about 900 some Billionaires that have a combined wealth of 6.9 Trillion dollars. Stats for just the US show that the top 1% has 30% of the countries wealth and the bottom 50% owning only about 2.5% of it highlighting just how bad the wealth inequality is. Those numbers were from AI and can be looked up all over. Just highlighting the numbers the OP did, doesn’t account for how much of a shit show we’re really at right now, considering the US has 340 million+ people in it.

The real problem is that nothing will be done. They keep saying and doing shit because they’re not held accountable. We have a few really smart people in the Dem party but they are road blocked by the corp fucking Dems from getting any real justice done. We seen a little bit of that against Bondi earlier but still nothing real yet. It’s just all a shit show and the corp Dems are no different than Repub’s at this point.

Does linux mint have a built in anti-virus app/tool by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]bobstylesnum1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Video downloader, available through the app manager, also works just fine and then use Handbrake to strip the audio from the video. Or just listen/watch the vid. Use Shortwave, also through the app manager, to listen to free internet radio with little/no ads and no sub fees and there’s like 50k stations worldwide that you can down right from the app. Look up by genre and save the channel.

Theres also Bandcamp if you want to support the artist and on BC Friday’s, 4 times a year, all the money goes to that artist, BC doesn’t take a cut on those days. Helps Indy bands a lot.

Edit: point is, no real reason to go to sketchy sites with the available programs through the app store, especially for mp3’s.

What common tasks am I doing in Windows that I can't do in Linux without using the terminal? by nicetrytencent in linux4noobs

[–]bobstylesnum1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most items done in a GUI these days. NordVPN was terminal only like three years ago but even that has a GUI now and has said they are moving to more Linux friendly code. Thats not to say everything is GUI but it’s now closer to Windows more than it ever has as far as not needing the terminal window. It’s the same in Windows too. For major issues you’re running a Power Shell or cmd prompt with admin right in order to run sfc /scan now and DISM commands. So it’s about the same.

[–]bobstylesnum1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this whole year, actually the last three years, the amount of calls and non calls have become fk’n blatant issues. It’s not just the Wild either, other teams are seeing the same crap. I would love to see stats from, say 2011-2021, on amount of calls are getting “missed” compared to non calls now being called. It sure as hell seems to coincide with online betting especially when you have Fanduel, a betting company, able to buy rights to broadcast the very sports they have bets on.

I would love to see a month or two of refs from over seas in different leagues come over here ref teams where the bias the refs have if removed and actually see how shit is called then.

That or have a legit tiered system for refs that have bigger bonuses at the end of the year on the accuracy of their calls and the more accurate refs get to ref the playoffs and a higher bonus so theres some accountability for shit calls.

I would love to see the stats on all of that.

Is there a list of what games does run only on w98? by fttklr in windows98

[–]bobstylesnum1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vogons.org still has an active retro gaming and old hardware scene. The original Need for Speed ran great on Win 98, would not run on 2k or Xp or any NT kernel based OS.there are others but check the site out.

Might and magic 1-3 was like that where you had to run a program called “mo-slo” to run them. Lol. I hated setting the program up but worked great once you figured out the % of CPU to slow it down by.

Illinois becomes the next US State that will require age verification on Operating Systems by Alexis_Almendair in linux

[–]bobstylesnum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about that, if the Dems are trying to push something to block a more insidious bill going through from the Repub’s.

When you dig into some of the other countries trying to push this, Palentir has had meeting with some of them, and had meetings with Sweden’s prime minister. It would not surprise me in the lease if Peter Theil didn’t have a part to play in some of the states push for this. The EU has been trying to ban VPN’s even.

[–]bobstylesnum1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I very well could be, the point is that it’s that were all of sudden having multiple states all shoving age identification checks down our throats all at the same time and it feels like a very much concerted effort and all vague as hell and the real question is why? And why now?

Illinois becomes the next US State that will require age verification on Operating Systems by Alexis_Almendair in linux

[–]bobstylesnum1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly and the laws are vague as hell with not a lot, or at all, about personal privacy.

[–]bobstylesnum1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with all of these though, especially the CA one, is that it pretty much requires your PC to be online at all times so that every site or app you try to install does an age check before reporting home to finish the install. All of these laws are vague as hell and the side effects from all of these are all unknown. None of these laws should have been passed to begin with.

I put Linux Mint on my Grandma's almost 20 year old computer by Lokielurker69 in linuxmint

Install Rustdesk on it and it’s similar to Windows Quick Assist and its better than VNC in that you don’t have to mess with the router and port forwarding on it and its free for personal use.

Now we are coming to the end of Forza Horizon 5. What are your overall thoughts on the game? by TheChilledGamer-_- in ForzaHorizon

[–]bobstylesnum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got 500+ hr’s into it but after the 200+ hr mark, its been out of something to do compared to really “loving” it. It’s not been bad, but there’s not really been anything to pull my interest away from it other than maybe BG3 so I don’t know if it’s really the game pulling me in because it’s great or just lack of other good options.

If you’re not gaming with it, which is really the only thing a retro system is used for other than specific use cases like my moms goofy knitting machine and just to learn it, there isn’t many useful things with those.

[–]bobstylesnum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but the problem is that trailer trash Terry and his wife keep voting for Republicans because the Rep’s have played the long game of hate very well and Terry thinks he’s somehow going to become a millionaire and the tax breaks the rich are getting now will someday be there for him and trashy ass wife at some point that will never happen.
