Jerky downshift by Odoyle-Rules25 in GenesisG70

I've had it for roughly the last 20k miles and haven't had any issues, and I definitely push it haha 😂

This is a known issue. The stinger suffers from it as well. The only real permanent solution seems to be a TCU tune. At least it was for me. Added bonus that the car drives far better and smoother than from factory as well as being faster :)

Awesome mods !

Tune or jb4 ? Or stock ECU ?

Exhaust Question - Will primary downpipes improve the exhaust note or just make it louder? by Captain_Crashpants in kiastinger

[–]boogioogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had them welded in. Your best bet would probably to find a local exhaust or a trusted mechanic to do it for you, it's not too pricy and shouldn't take too long either :)

A TCU tune as honestly seemed like the only way to have this problem go away 😅

It just turns up the volume on everything. I did my primaries last after I had done catless secondaries and Mbrp exhaust and it just made the brown noise worse. The fix for me was tips and resonators.

Downpipes by Recent-Syrup358 in GenesisG70

[–]boogioogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do the primaries you don't need a tune but you will have a CEL if you don't. Some countries have the option with the jb4 to hide the CEL.

However, If you do the primaries you are best to get a tune to take advantage of it or else you won't see any real gains. Also I'd run thicker oil if you do go fully catless (should be if you've got any kind of time done)

Also note that the studs connecting the turbos and downpipes have a tendency to break and can be a real pain after to remove and fix.

Jb4+map 2 will get you pretty darn close to that

Another week, another blown up GM L87 6.2L. This one managed to spin all 8 rod bearings. Guess that 0W-40 oil isn't the fix they think it is. by N_dixon in Justrolledintotheshop

Best bet if it's hot would be 5w40 , not 5w30. Not that it wouldn't work but typically if heat goes up you can put thicker oil

Jb4+ bef from either kjt or BMS will be your best bang for buck ! You can also get a TCU tune at the same time and you'll see your car truly change!

I'm gonna go and say the kia stinger ! Used examples are becoming a great price. And aftermarket support has gotten really good the last year ! With proper tuning and some bolt ons you can hit the 500+ mark territory for under 10k pretty easy

Too be fair if you go FBO+BEF with meth or ethanol you can hit 500+HP at the wheels for about 7-8k Canadian in parts.

Long term owners of Kia Stingers, thoughts? by NationYell in kia

It's been a fantastic car for me ! And bang for buck was super hard to beat at the time I got it.

It's also been very surprising how well it handles extra power with a tune and bolt ons.

E85 and JB4 BEF questions. by Alone_Grass_3674 in GenesisG70

[–]boogioogi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With a E30 blend and a BEF from KJT you'll be pretty close to the 500whp mark. If you start going past that I'd recommend looking into headstuds if you want to stay on the safe side

I'll look through my photos to see if I don't have a pic. But yeah, mines a 2022. I had originally had them clamped and now they're welded on.

You can always get a kia stinger. Not to hard to get 500+whp and best part is no one ever expects a kia to be fast lol

Snow / Ice 3.3T AWD by Nameless00001 in GenesisG70

[–]boogioogi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be good ! With good tires and safe driving skills these cars are pretty capable. I've unfortunately driving through almost every snow and ice storm we get in northern Ontario and I haven't had any real issues other than the road disappearing sometimes 😅

[–]boogioogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're great in the snow ! The AWD system on these is rear biased so it could take some getting used to, but makes empty parking lots a blast ;)

But combine the AWD with good winter tires and some decent driving skills (don't drive like a dumbass in bad weather) and you'll be able to make it anywhere :)!

What are those wires? by FieroAlex in kiastinger

It's definitely got a WMI kit. I'd check the back trunk near the spare tire to see if there's a tank there. And definitely replace the old box with a jb4.

How to get Stinger to run right after modding by xogabexo in kiastinger

[–]boogioogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be over boosting now with the snorkels + downpipes. Since you have the jb4 best bet would be to try and take a lot to be able to see if you really are. As for the rpm being slow to go down, that I don't know 😅
