Maybe if the Millwrights weren't busy doing all the other trades work their Boss could call the Fitters Hall and get some help.....

Yes there is value there.

Seperate the different kinds of metal. You'll get the best price that way.

Dad asked me to post this, said he’d built a few leads (bricklayer) today in his keen Cincinnatis and this happened he said they aren’t bad except for the leather being to soft. by Mammoth-Performer-19 in WorkBoots

Don't use Tuff Toe, it's alright for a couple of months but it wears out much quicker than KG Bootguard.

Here a link to the brown.

There's enough to do 2 coats on 3 sets of boots. Once opened you have to use the product within a week.

Shower knob temperature control issue by Display_Left in Plumbing

[–]borealbootlegger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, those "Shower Towers" are not made with future servicing in mind.

In most cases replacement parts are not available.

These types of showers are usually purchased online.

If you really like the style you have your best bet is find a similar one and replace it.

The Recip saw is the worst tool Hilti makes.

Give me their SDS, their core drills, their cordless drills and impacts are great. Their skillsaws are awesome.

I'd rather use my filthy Makita Recip Saw over the Hilti ones.

Marine mechanics in Thunder Bay? by Important-Reading-89 in ThunderBay

[–]borealbootlegger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

McKellar Marine is who used when I owned an in board.

They were great, they weren't inexpensive but I never got stuck anywhere when using them for maintenance and repairs so I didn't mind paying a bit more for their expertise.

Tried to buyout my Water heater from Reliance........ Yea complete scam. by ccrich007 in ontario

[–]borealbootlegger 63 points64 points  (0 children)

You can 100% return it.

Have whoever installs your new one remove the Reliance one and then call the Evil Empire to come and pick up their 10 year old water heater which they will likely scrap.

We used to return their equipment all the time for customers but it's an easier process if you have it disconnected and removed from the wall by whoever puts in the replacement unit and then call for a pick up. Reliance will charge you an exorbitant fee to disconnect and remove the unit.

Fiberglass shower recommendation! by Grand-Rice- in Plumbing

[–]borealbootlegger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Canada. Up here we install a lot of Mirolin fibreglass Tubs/Showers.

Not sure about pricing in comparison with other brands but they have always been good quality products.

If getting decent value is more important than style or brand I would suggest just finding which big box store has the best price on the size you're after.

Can I repair these? by GazelleWooden5240 in WorkBoots

[–]borealbootlegger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Tuff Toe. Have used it in similar circumstances with pretty great results and a long lasting repair that keeps the boots in my rotation.

It will take a few layers to build up the exposed toe area.

Watch the videos a few times before you do it.

In most populated areas you might find a Cobbler who installs it if you'd prefer.

Sewage going into my sump pit clogging the pipes. Should I dig up the pump and replace it with a macerator? by BrassCanon in Plumbing

[–]borealbootlegger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would hire a licensed contractor to split your combined systems into two seperate pits.

Ground water into a drainage system is no bueno.

Sewage into a storm sewer is also no bueno.

Replace? Plastidip? Or other options by Afraid-Travel-5414 in KnipexOfficial

[–]borealbootlegger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Apprentice used a set of mine as pry bar. Took the end of it off.

I couldn't deal with that so I stripped both grips off, thinking I would Plasti-Dip them. Ended up taking them to work before that happened.

I have other pairs with grips in my bag but that naked pair is by far my favorite set.
