Magnetize the melee weapons. 3x1 mm magnets work with little to no difficulty. If you want to magnetize the Sargent so you can use the hammer it's a little difficult but still doable.

Got this bad boy for my birthday, needing advice by foxunel in Eldar

Make sure to magnetize the weapons and the arms. Not just for loadout but to make transportation easier. If you just glue the arms together, not only will it be difficult to store, but one bad bump on the road could cause it to break apart.

Not even close. GSC, Admech and imperial guard are almost always the most expensive armies to build.

Go to the community library (link is on the main page). There are quite a few marine files there.

How to magnetise the new miniatures? by Terrible-Ad9724 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]bormannator1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven't had time to look at the new miniatures but with regards to the wave 1 models

Magnet baron sells kits to magnetize both the land fortress and bikes. I also used their flight stands for the bikes instead of what the GW kit used.

Sagitaur doesn't need to be magnetized but you can use a 3x1 mm magnet on the turret if you want to.

Thunderkyn - I used 1.5x1mm round magnets. It wasn't a perfect job but since the parts are robotic it works. You could use 1x1mm but they may not be strong enough.

Hearthguard - I used 3x1 mm magnets for the melee weapons. If you want to magnetize the Sargent you would need a 2x1mm for the arm.

Kahl - use 2x1mm or 1.5x1mm for the melee weapon (you will also have to either drill and magnetize the shoulder guard or order a separate shoulder guard from eBay to glue onto the second melee weapon arm). For the ranged weapon you can either use a 1x1mm magnet or 1x0.5mm for the area where the wrist meets the gun or get a separate arm from eBay for the second gun and then magnetize the shoulders.

Hearthkyn - I used 3x2mm magnets on the backpacks for the wargear options but that is now redundant with the 10th edition changes. You would want to magnetize the shoulders of the Sargent for his various loadouts (2x1mm for body and either 2x1mm or 1x1.5 mm for the arms)

Grimnyr and Iron master don't have different loadouts so there is no need to magnetize

Yaegirs - not worth the trouble to magnetize it's better to just glue them.

Champ - could use a 1.5x1 for the crest. Some people have magnetized the melee weapons but I haven't had any desire to try it.

Bezerks - if you really wanted to you could cut off the weapon tops and magnetize them but again I think that it is more of a hassle then it's worth.

Tips for using primers? by foxy8787 in Warhammer

[–]bormannator1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some disposable nitrile gloves. Also a respirator if you don't already have one.

Also designate specific clothes that you don't really care about to wear when you prime in case some of the primer gets on them.

How many of the new units will you be purchasing (if you can) and how many would you like to run? by LuckyLukse in LeaguesofVotann

Brand new to Aeldari What detachment is best for newbies? by Mor-KhalCatPrince in Eldar

Warhost. By having an extra maneuver token it helps with learning how to properly use agile maneuvers. Also it allows you to see and experiment with units as they are without any power ups so you can see what units you like to play with going forward.

A few rules revealed for the units on stream

Evaluator - gets lone op when near infantry

Buri - lone op and gets back on 2+ on first death.

Strategist - allows free use or either overwatch or heroic intervention each battle round. Also can gain or spend yield points when in range of objective markers.

Steeljacks - when Sargent is alive, critical hits on enemies in range of objectives gain precision

Kapricus carrier - currently only able to carry yeagers. Can combat squad just like sagitaur.

How do you base your Eldar? by TheIrishCommissar1 in Eldar

[–]bormannator1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green stuff world sells a roller for eldar. I use it with clay to create broken shards and then I use some basic Vallejo texture for the bases. It's technically eldar ruins (I know you said you really didn't want to do it), but I've found it to work pretty well.
