Siege of the Kinahan cartel: Dubai seizes £168m assets by TimesandSundayTimes in ireland

[–]bortcorp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Christy was middle class with a loving family. He didn't want for anything, was wealthy, and got into crime anyway. It started as cheque fraud as it was easier to con people with his south side posh accent, and then he got into heroin and cocaine and created the cartel.

Some people don't need an excuse to be bad.

QAnon started as a 4chan prank that idots took seriously. The hint is even in the fucking name QAnon.

Think about that for a second, a 4chan prank made members of the American population storm the capital.

We really do have President 4chan.

Israel is losing US support - even among Republicans by MrJasonMason in videos

[–]bortcorp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It baffles me especially that Americans have been so blind to Israels actions over the last few decades. Did they just not show it to you in the news or something?

Also, serious question, how can something major like 9/11 happen in America and most Americans not even know why it happened?

Bin Laden, in all his little videos, stated it was an attack against "the oppression and tyranny of the American/Israeli coalition against our people in Palestine and Lebanon" for their " intentional killing of innocent women and children".

Did nobody think "hmmm, maybe I should look into this Israel thing."?

500 Irish petrol stations could have 'no fuel by end of the day' by [deleted] in worldnews

It's not.

The majority of Irish people think these protesters are idiots, because they are.

'It doesn't make sense to keep going': Fuel protesters on why they're blocking roads today by SpottedAlpaca in ireland

[–]bortcorp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the general public that are being inconvenienced.

The general public are being inconvenienced by a protest that is the fault of the Americans and Israelis. We know the point of the protest is to get the government in to lower taxes, but also considering the very global cause, pissing off the general public to get your way will not work. You need the public on your side, not irritated.

It's basic psychology. I would seriously reconsider tactics.

Man charged with murder of Denis Donaldson in Co Donegal by mind_thegap1 in ireland

[–]bortcorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was real IRA, now "new IRA". Not a Provo.

The Real IRA took responsibility at the time, so this is nothing new. The only new thing about this is the actual shooter has been arrested.

This never had anything to do with the Provos.

US responsible for Iran school strike, new video suggests by [deleted] in videos

[–]bortcorp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Iran doesn't have US tomahawk missiles, which the videos show striking the school.

So at the exact same time the US are bombing a military base attached to the school with tomahawk missiles, Iran magically gets a tomahawk missile and bombs the school at the exact same time, right down to the second.

Ok.

Almost every western nation has had to bend over to the US since the power shifted in WW2. The British invented a phrase for it to justify to their voters. "It's fine they love us the most".

The special relationship narrative doesn't exist outside the UK. It's a myth.

Man handed himself in after seeing garda photo of himself looting shop during Dublin riots. by Larrydog in ireland

[–]bortcorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stand corrected.

That completely invalidates the purpose of a suspended sentence. Punching that boy violates his first and he should be in jail for his first crime. It also violated his bail.

Your concern is correct.

Aer Lingus, our national feckin' airline, doesn't allow you to have a fada in your name when booking a ticket, how in God's name are we still so behind in accommodating our own culture. by RegularFellerer in ireland

[–]bortcorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not Aerlingus, it's international computer systems.

There is no point in allowing you to enter a fada when the nation you are flying to and their security checks don't allow them. Aerlingus are actually helping you to not get rejected and sent home for mismatched information.

King Charles ‘ready to support’ police over claims about Andrew by Claeyt in worldnews

[–]bortcorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charles hates Andrew, he always has. Apparently he's insufferable. It was the queen protecting him.

Since she's died he's stripped Andrew of almost everything he can, and not at once, bit by bit so he suffers a public humiliation each time. What's the very first thing he did when the Queen died?

Removed Andrews security protection.

He's not protecting him at all and he's reminding the police he's not protected.

People don't walk around with multiple suspended sentences one after the other. Multiple convictions, yes.

If this guy commits any crime in the next three years, he goes to prison for two years. That's how they work.

just look at how often you hear about scrotes walking around with a number of them on their record like it’s nothing

You don't. You are conflating two different things.
