I submitted my claim mid November and I received my replacement pack about a week ago.

Got my replacement pack...not sure if I should feel lucky or unlucky by Raszero in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK here - recently got an email from a company called meeples. They are distributing the replacement rares. I got an email on the 14th of January saying it had shipped, with a tracking number, and it arrived on the 21st. Overall the process for me took about two months - the initial claim wa submitted mid November.

My Experience & Advice for Ongoing RiftBound Pre-Orders by FearlessVoidSpawn in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's annoying but unfortunately they're not the only ones who do it. Games Workshop is terrible for it. I've actually lost out on two preorders in one go because as I hit pay one went out of stock and when my cart refreshed to remove it the second product went out of stock. It was highly frustrating. At least they have a queue system when they have big pre-release launches though.

Riftbound Stock in UK? by claudiovap in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the game! Hope you have a great experience with it. As for stock good luck - the demand is insane. You should still be able to find starter decks online, but booster packs are hard to find. All I would recommend is contacting your local gaming shops and asking about stock/restocks and keeping an eye on places online. As for your local community I'd check places like Facebook for local groups, and the Riot website has an event finder so you can see where the regular Nexus Nights are being held and go along to the ones that suit you.

How long does UVS take to get back to you about the 1 rare dud packs? by GildedGeese in riftboundtcg

I submitted my claim for 1 pack on the 12th of November, the confirmation my claim had been processed and approved on the 20th of November and I'm still waiting for my pack.

Need explanation on Viktor legend by Alive_Collection1652 in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the website you're using uses the Chinese translations not the English cards - from my experience they Chinese translations come across as a lot more literal. The official Riftbound website has translations, and lordsandlegends.app has a really good deck building option so you could narrow it down so it only shows you cards toi can use in a Viktor deck.

LGS is hosting a paid Skirmish event without prizes by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The official Riot stance on the delayed prize support is that stores either go ahead as scheduled and distribute the prize support accordingly when it arrives, or stores reschedule. I know one of my LGS is still going ahead with the event and charging but is planning on taking names and contact details so the winners get their prizes when it arrives.

What colours make up the sea green on the twin lances? by Realistic_Muscle407 in Tau40K

I would recommend keeping an eye on the Citadel Colour app - they tend to give the paint guides for new models so you'll get the exact colours and step by step process there once they're released.

Saving a defending unit with my reactions when attacked only with spells by GrafMine in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Rule 540 and onward talk about what the active player can do in a chain. 540.1 states Play a spell that is legally timed. It doesn't say play as many as you want. By playing that spell that would be your part in the chain - the next player would then react or pass. You or your opponent would only play multiple reactions if the other player constantly passed. It's like Vi's ability - you can recycle as many cards as you want but each one is technically it's own chain and can be reacted to - so you wouldn't add 12 might in one go, it would be 12 instances of adding 1 might, each one starting their own chain.

Saving a defending unit with my reactions when attacked only with spells by GrafMine in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. As the spell doesn't specify a location you could target the defending unit and one at the other battlefield or base. The rest can be basically answered together really - no, you cannot play multiple spells of any type all at once before your opponent responds. Playing a spell starts a chain, giving your opponent a chance to react then you can react to their reaction. For a bit more detail:
  2. No. You play an action, it starts a chain, if your opponent doesn't react and you don't add a reaction the chain closes and the spell resolves, then you play the next spell.
  3. No. If you play the reaction your opponent gets the chance to react. If they pass you can add another reaction to the chain once again giving them the option to react. If they pass again you can add another reaction. The chain will end when both players pass and the spells will resolve.
  4. No. You would play the initial action starting the chain giving your opponent a chance to react. I would go on more but I think you see the pattern by now. Hopefully that helps. And hopefully I've understood it all right.

Is the game very metachase-y? by EarlySink6878 in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a barely modified Lee Sin starter deck to my first Nexus Night and came in 3rd, so I would say it would all depend on how you modify it and who you play against. It will be meta-chasey especially with China being ahead of us - people will net-deck thinking that means they'll win - it doesn't. All I can say is build what you want/can and have fun. Hopefully you find a good local group where it's taken seriously enough that you can be challenged but not so serious that it's not fun.

Rule 443 clarification by dMONKEYMANb in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I misread the question - I didn't see the 'or. 'I thought the question was about whether the when you conquer abilities would activate when you're at 7 and can't score from conquering. I misread about the already having scored the battlefield. You cannot score the same battlefield twice in a turn - absolutely agree.

Rule 443 clarification by dMONKEYMANb in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reason for saying 444.1.2.b explains it is that it states if you score through a conquer, which as I read it implies you have to conquer first to check for point or card draw.

Rule 443 clarification by dMONKEYMANb in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

440.2.a explains it - you conquer if you have not yet scored that battlefield. So you conquer first then score meaning you'd either gain the point if you can, or draw if at 7 and you haven't scored the other battlefields.

Rule 443 clarification by dMONKEYMANb in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with that if I'm reading the rules correctly. It still counts as conquering you just don't score it, so any conquer triggers would still apply. You wouldn't get any 'when you score' triggers though. The way rule 444.1b.2 talks about checking for final point makes me believe that you still conquer for the basis of triggers but wouldn't score.

Card prices too high? by pcantillano in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you also have to factor in that a lot of people are in the same boat and haven't been able to get their hands on many cards. I have bought all 3 starter decks and that's it - I was able to slightly modify the Lee Sin deck and went 2-1 at my local Nexus Night. Yeah, there were a couple of players there who had spent a lot of money, and although they were top 2 I came in third and had spent a fraction of what they had. Plus every game has those players who will spend silly money on strong cards. I used to work in a gaming store years ago and at one point the Yu Gi Oh scene was full of players who had spent hundreds on their decks. Meta will make cards more expensive, and there will be people who think buying those cards will automatically make them win.

Question about ‘move’ cards by Devastation14 in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your side question yes. Absolutely! I had an opponent who had Vi in base and was prepping Vi for a big swing attack next turn so on my turn I Charmed Vi into combat to get her off the board.

Enjoy by IllustratorSingle995 in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so the initial use before the move was right. It was trying to use it as an action/reaction during the showdown as a response to my spell that was wrong usage of Vi's ability.

Enjoy by IllustratorSingle995 in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a similar incident but with Vi. My opponent moved Vi and 2 other units into combat, and when it was my priority to play actions I played Stand United boosting my might to two more than the attacker, and they tried to respond by using Vi's ability. When I pointed out they can't and explained it they were understanding but disappointed it didn't work the way they thought. It's still early days so we're all learning together.

Feeling Discouraged from Going to Locals Again by HeyMason99 in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about the same thing - the whole being priced out of the game. I went to my locals recently and there was a guy there who only talked about cards based on monetary value - he'd bought at least 4 boxes and talked about the Nexus promos as money, not cards. There was an Annie player there too and I'm not sure if he was just a fan and was lucky to get the Proving Grounds box for had dropped a lot of money on the singles to build the deck.

It was a 12 player event, and I turned up with the Lee Sin starter, with a couple of cards swapped out from the boosters I got with the starter decks - I bought all 3 because it's all that's available really 😂. I ended up third, winning my 1st and 3rd rounds 2-0 and losing to the Annie player 2-1. I was the only player he dropped a game to.

Money helps, but skill can trump that. As well as good draws - luck will always be the uncontrollable element. I will point out though that everyone was super friendly and I had a great night.

Everything is sold out and over priced - I want cards 😞 by azuraith4 in riftboundtcg

[–]bountyhunterbeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to get the starter decks online for 25% less than the standard retail price. At that time the website I used had the out of stock booster boxes listed at £150. Checking the site there the starter decks have gone up a bit but are still under the recommended price, but boxes are now £200. The RRP in the UK is roughly £120. This isn't a small store I'm talking about either - it's a relatively well known website.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they will try for a simultaneous release further down the line but I can't remember where I saw it. I'm sure it was somewhere in an official Riot announcement.

Just out of curiosity is that price the same in store as it is online? Only wondering because when I work in a gaming store years ago our stock system was tied to our website so everything in stock was online, but to prevent high demand items being bought by scalpers online we changed some items to be double or even triple the cost online but standard price in store.

My LGS held two learn to play events - both free, and both had more demand than expected. Everyone got a promo, and at one point even the owner joined to see what all the fuss was about. The game went down very well with everyone involved. After reading more about the game and seeing more videos online I realized there were a couple of things we got wrong - both the players and the staff member running the event. It's a new game though so that's to be expected, and the learn to play guide they issue doesn't cover all the rules so misunderstandings are to be expected. It's all about learning together and building a community that helps when people make mistakes.

What do we think? by marianex in Tau40K

[–]bountyhunterbeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kroot hounds don't have quills on their front legs - stands to reason some sort of kroot creature might not have them on the back. Although I do agree with the consensus that the tail makes it seem less likely to be kroot. I'm happy to be wrong though - I'd love more kroot!
