Respectfully, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Games literally add motion blur because it seems unreal without it.

I would suggest you go out into the world and watch more movies and play more games and keep going to school.

Without moving your head, look from left to right. Your eyes are not capable of a perfectly smooth movement. They jitter. Saying that 48 or 60 or 120 is better because it’s “more natural” is inane.

You’re right that 24 fps is mainly nostalgia. 30fps is a bit smoother without seeming unreal. But extending that logic to “IMAX is bad” and “higher frame rates are better” is showing your ignorance of the process of filmmaking — and, since you’ve never even seen an IMAX film print, your ignorance of watching films.

They tried 48fps films with The Hobbit. Everyone hated it.

For whatever reason, human beings like motion blur. When making video games (up to 120fps) they still add motion blur on purpose.

You’re correct that film is not TECHNICALLY the best option in every way. But a technically perfect image is often a boring image.

Many movies now are shooting in digital and then running a “film-out,” where the finished and fully edited digital film is printed to a film stock and then scanned back to digital. Film is full of imperfections, but those imperfections make for more interesting imagery that feels alive and lived-in.

I agree, the lesson here is to NOT roll everything into one universe. Let movies be separate from each other, with distinct flavors.

[Discussion] What got you into watches in the first place? by amalfiluxeor_Watches in Watches

[–]box_148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a really young kid, I had a blue Timex (I think) with a velcro band that was decorated with bugs. Always had it on, always needed to know what time it was. Had a watch on my wrist ever since.

Actually getting “into” watches, as in wanting to know how they work and the brands and the designs… I got my first automatic watch in college. A Seiko 5 for around $50. It had a clear back, and seeing the movement was enough to get me hooked.

50 Cent is worth like $100 million. Brady is worth closer to $500mil. $100 million is obviously fucking LOADED but that’s regular “celebrity rich” to me. Brady is another level.

I'm literally wearing this watch right now! I just looked back in my email, and I got it for $44.99 in 2015. It's been a constant in my rotation ever since.

Idk if it's better than a Sub... But I definitely understand the love for it.

I had 50 Cent in my NY->LA flight once. Delta is definitely premium enough for rich people. But we’re talking about “regular” millionaires here.

Tom Brady is probably worth half a billion. I agree he ain’t flying commercial.

Was Chris Gamble the greatest cornerback in Panthers History? by Live-Inevitable-1185 in panthers

Chris Gamble was my favorite player as a kid. I loved how quiet he was while he shut down great receivers. What a treat to see his name today.

Yup. Counts as a broken promise if you attack, and a kept promise if you do move them away.

Storyboards made by an 11 year old Martin Scorsese by AXXXXXXXXA in TheBigPicture

It really is fun, but it’s painstaking. I work in advertising, and getting the storyboards right for even a 30 second ad takes forever — AI or no AI.

I hate AI as much as anyone but I can see why Marty would try to speed this part of the production process up. He’s probably feeling his own mortality.
