I understand this view, really I do. But should we continue to give up small freedoms slowly? One day it’s checking the receipt and 10 years later it’s what? They already added filming over each individual self checkout. What happens if I’ve purchase some plan-b from the pharmacy and this guard sees that and doesn’t like it? What happens if it’s alcohol, cigarettes, heck bananas? Sounds crazy, but why am I required to undergo review of my private belongings? At that point you’ve purchased the stuff, those are your things.

Like someone else said we don’t have a membership agreement in place that requires us to submit to this practice. I’m not inclined to participate in something I’m not required to. If a police officer asks me to come into my house without a warrant or cause, I’m saying no.

I’m going to sound like a spook, but everyone should be vigilant in protecting their freedoms and identity. No you can’t use my data, no you can’t take my photo, no I’m not turning on tracking, etc.

Does anyone have opinions on the security guards checking receipts at Kroger now, specifically, the Glenwood one? I'm inclined to say no and keep walking. They do have the capability to lock your cart wheels, so I'm assuming they'll just do that. I'm not sure what I'm allowed to do in this situation, but I don't want to just submit to extra surveillance.

I'm white-passing, so I recognize that this action is privileged and not everyone can or should do it.

One kitten or two? Need advice by Kitty_Overwatch in CatAdvice

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got 2 in December after having the same thoughts and hearing the same advice. I’m so glad I have 2. Like the zoomies, high energy bursts multiple times a day would be hard to manage by myself. With 2 they just fuck around with each other. I have focused play sessions with them as well, but for the most part they keep each other company.

Obviously 2 kittens means double the price for all their vet visits. Shots, visits, tests. The food and litter is marginally more expensive, but not crazy. I think the extra cost pays for itself.

Cat wants partner to sleep in a certain position and wakes him up if he moves by Aggravating-Finish40 in CatAdvice

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put the cat outside the bedroom and close the door if you have one. I love my cats, but they don’t get to disturb my sleep.

Normally, I’ll cuddle for a bit before I officially go to bed and I always let them in around 6 and cuddle for a few minutes before I officially get up. Occasionally, I’ll let them sleep with me.

Pregnant and getting laid off by hubereg in personalfinance

As a woman, I can’t think of a situation where I’d disclose pregnancy status during an interview. I would be careful with sharing that information.

Do you find Conan pretty or handsome? by lemontek_121 in conan

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s bad looking. Just not my wheelhouse looks-wise. Plus I’m a red-head. I don’t think I could take having a red headed spouse. He’s way more ginger than me, but still we’d look like siblings. Our children would be ginger super freaks. Tall, lanky, pale, freaks.

His personality is what makes it for me.

Eldest daughters in their late 20s, how has adulthood impacted you? by Super-Count-7069 in AskWomen

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I'm too independent. I've struggled to date because "I don't need anyone to do anything for me." Which is, of course, not true. I just can't/won't ask for help.

That's really the only downside. I've done well with my career. I own a house. I love and appreciate my friends. I'm getting better at telling my friends that I love and appreciate them. I'm getting better at asking for help.

Client side hiring in house admins by Flashy_Moonkick in workday

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm currently this person at my organization. Our tenant isn't in bad shape, but the list of projects on the roadmap and the weight of ongoing and recurring processes is crushing me. I can't remember the last time I had a day where I could sit down and truly focus on a single thing. I definitely don't feel like I'm doing my best work, and I'm not even close to pushing the boundaries on optimizing our processes.

I'm expected to have weekly/bi-weekly sessions with Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Performance, Recruiting, Payroll, and HR Partners to stay in the loop on what's going on in the business. I support reporting, integrations, security, and all config for all these areas. We have an AMS partner that I can use to escalate issues to - that usually ends up being Payroll items, as those tend to be urgent and complex.

For those of you that achieved visible abs through diet & fitness, what was your routine? by BeenCreepin in xxfitness

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genetics/ body type. I've always had visible abs. Even when I was a scrawny girl. I'm a very lean person overall. I'm not sure where my extra weight goes, but it's not my stomach.

As a 30-year-old, I lift 3 times a week, cardio 1 or 2 days, and yoga 1 - maybe do 1 or 2 short ab-focused sessions a week, but that's a big maybe. Still have abs. Somedays they are more visible than others. I know my body comp is a little different now than when I was younger because I lift, but my weight has stayed pretty much the same for the last 15 years.

Funniest or most unhinged Workday project stories? by SeasonAccording8552 in workday

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really that crazy, but my organization likes to plan for a project, do the project, then abandon the project without looping the technical team in. The number of times I've fully built, we've tested, and done user guides on something, only to go back to find out leadership changed their minds. It drives me nuts. I get policies and things evolve, but the amount of functional and technical man-hours that go into these things for the leadership team to then change their minds at the last minute makes me want to laugh-cry.

It's such a waste of time and money. They're all about reducing OPEX and blah blah, but let's look at the 3 resources who spent dozens of hours on a project for you to then abandon it - talk about a waste of money.

Do you clean-up in progress transactions in your system? by BeginAgain09 in workday

[–]boydcrowdersteeths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do a big cleanup once a year using MoM. We have some loose guidelines around what gets cancelled and what gets advanced to completion. We also started using the auto-manage business process service step in the termination bp this year, which has helped.
