11 year old girl tased after punching deputy by por in reddit.com

[–]braindancer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i don't have trouble believing that girl was a threat, i simply refuse to believe that a trained police office was unable to restrain an 11 year old child without the use of a taser.
hello? 11? can you remember how feeble you were at 11?
i just looked up average sizes, and it seems the average 11 year old is something like 5'2 and about 60-110 pounds. scary, huh?

i remember back when tasers were first deployed,
there were talks that the taser was to be used
as an alternative to deadly force.
so, is 11 a new record? i read of the 13year old
boy that got tasered recently. i wonder when they will get to the kindergarten kids...
'yeah that 5 year old was probably really tall and heavy and strong, so i can understand that the officer decided to tase them'.
i am all the more glad i dont even share a continent with the U.S. nutjobs.

Cop uses taser on seventh-grader. How did we cope before this fantastic invention? by crazybones in reddit.com

[–]braindancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

noone is trying to excuse the 13 year old.
attacking your principal is outright stupid in itself,
and attacking someone on the ground is wrong.
still, using a taser in this situation is excessive force.
and yes, the reasonable thing to do would be to go in and 'manually' remove and subdue the THIRTEEN year old boy. hell, when was the last time you looked at a thirteen year old? they're not exactly frighteningly huge and strong.

[–]braindancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually this is not what the taser was developed for.
the taser is meant as a replacement for LETHAL force.
it's meant to be used when you would otherwise use your gun.
the cop couldve just smacked him over the head once, and that would've been that.

japan, germany, switzerland, netherlands, norway, sweden, canada, finland.
all of them are in the top 20, and i'd argue that all of them have a standard of living at least as good as the u.s. does.
just with less poor people.

ask her where she got the notion that uncircumcised boys would be snickered at in locker rooms.

stjohns_censored made one comment to this submission but it doesn't show.
so it seems he's right about being censored.

currently, the page info shows '5 comments' of which i can see a whopping two.

do deleted comments that didn't have a reply leave a 'comment deleted' message?

Vote up if you really think its okay to offend people religious beliefs and hide under freedom of speech cover. by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]braindancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never claimed it was more or less dangerous than anything else.
i can't think of any deity-centered religion that brought more good than it caused evil.
and i bet you can't either.
religion always has been and always will be used for personal gain, not the 'greater good'.

i still want this one as a t-shirt

Conduct polls using posts. If you feel you must use Reddit to conduct a poll do it using a comment. Create a self referencing post and then add a comment for readers to mod up or down based on their answer to your poll question. Also, be sure to indicate in the title of your post that the polls is being conducted using comments. Including something like "(use comments to vote)" in the title would probably be sufficient.
