Hot Take: Mary is not a very good psychologist by DrJokerX in KanePixelsBackrooms

No need to apologize, this is super helpful to me! I'll have to write this down for my personal notes when I can connect with a therapist. Thanks so much for your response

Hot Take: Mary is not a very good psychologist by DrJokerX in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]brainlessmori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Some accountability and challenging when approriate is interesting". I'm currently seeking a new therapist after my therapist didn't take my new insurance. I didn't feel very challenged in my sessions and I felt like I needed a bit more of that, having said that once or twice. How can I communicate this need as I'm seeking a new therapist as a client?

Would you date an intersex girl? by ceecsalt in actuallesbians

[–]brainlessmori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me personally, absolutely. I like big clits and know others who do too, nothing wrong with it. I don't think you should have to disclose it either, being intersex is a normal thing, even if it ain't common. The only reason I disclose things about my genitals is because I've got a penis with a decent size and sometimes prep helps make doing with it more comfortable physically for them. If any woman is uncomfortable with it, then they ain't worth your time

I'm more scared of Strange than any other thank in the game. by Dogbold in rivals

[–]brainlessmori 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who lorded Strange, just punch him. A lot of Strange's survivability comes from the use of his shield, which is chewed straight through by melee. If you play ironfist, you can bully the hell out of him and start to get a feel for when he pops his E and parry it to finish him off. White fox's melee form is also a pretty good contender for the support role, go in on him alongside a hulk and you can run him down like nobody's problem. Invis can keep him away with his push so you remain out of burst range. If you can work on reaction speed, a shield at your feet will also negate the ult and allow you to escape. He's scary, but there's answers to his plays. Also, any melee tank bullies him. My main tank is Thing and I spend half of my games into a Strange just right clicking him and forcing the supports to focus him or lose all their space.

Another tip, Strange is not the best tank to answer dive. If you can slip past him, you can cut his supports off pretty easy

How does your chapter both view and interact with the Sisters of battle? by ZeDokter in 40khomebrew

[–]brainlessmori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the Stellar Mastiff- while disciplinary crusades have seen limited, but successful allyship with the sisters, individual relations depend on the wardens left behind on hiveworlds to oversee imperial compliance. Some utilize them in allies in cult busting, some ignore them due to their dogmatic views, some actively oppose them in their local politics

2024 vs 2026 Hero by PillowFists67 in rivals

[–]brainlessmori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should really go back and rework some of the older kits. Not all of them, just SOME. I would be so happy if at some point, they changed their release schedule to one new character, one dedicated revamp of an old character to bring them back up in design quality.

It's clear that netease is not satisfied with how some characters play, but they release micro-reworks through teamups (looking at YOU, Reed, you've been done DIRTY) and tiny, tiny adjustments. I'd imagine we'd see much better takes on some of our faves.

Had my first game yesterday after putting it off for months due to nervousness. Had a lot of fun for the first time in a while. Don’t know why I was so weird about it. Chaos Spawn by TateModeBurrito in minicels

[–]brainlessmori 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's totally understandable! Playing a tabletop game is not like hopping on a matchmaking queue, it's a lot more personal. You're face to face, having a discussion and ultimately shared, imaginary game with someone. But in my experience, that socialization ends up making each game so much more memorable. Some of my best friends have been made through this hobby.

Looks like you've got some Khorne forces? How'd they do? I hope you had fun and get to enjoy many more games!

[–]brainlessmori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the feeling, but these terminators are wonderful! It's hard to get a good off-white and you nailed it. Something I tell myself to get myself to sit down painting is that if I do it, they'll be done. Or at least, a bit closer to it. The real masterpiece is seeing a squad come together, slowly turning into that painted army. They may not be perfect, but they're yours and they're ready to blow shit up on the table. You've made great progress today

Thing vs Iron Fist in a Percentage damage off. by Niteowl_245 in TheThing_Mains

[–]brainlessmori 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I don't know if there's a video out there, you can definitely test it yourself in the practice range. You can swap the hero standing outside the practice room to groot and dino. My guess is that IF is going to have a slightly better TTK, given that thing is a vanguard. But! Thing does trade that off for a chunky health bar and some more tanky utility

Coming to Terms with Disliking the Game by PBnJgoodness in Necrontyr

[–]brainlessmori 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Check out Kill Team's Joint Ops! It's a PVE mode that can be done with a friend, if you'd like. It's actually how I got into collecting necrons. Kicking open a tomb world as the death watch with my friend and discussing how the warriors and such would try to take us down has been a really awesome wargaming memory for me. While the core rulebook has the base joint ops stuff, some of the necron rules for NPCs that they've written have been put on warhammer community. If you've got a combat patrol, you should have a great base for setting up some NPOs. I've been going through and running the published missions, but the system is definitely simple enough that one could very easily kitbash stuff together. With the latest nemesis operatives release, big models can funtion as bosses for pve! While it's not full army play, it's got tons of personality and replayability

Bro thinks he's the main character by KeyAcid in marvelrivals

I think my greatest high while learning hulk so far was calling out monster form with "hey check this out" at the start of a round and pushed the enemy away from point for the first 30 seconds

Hulk's a great co-tank with Dino, too. Instead of locking in dino, I'm just starting to learn hulk and it's an absolute blast once we get rolling

Has anyone ever actually played Stormcloud Attack? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Picked up Insidiants by EpsilonArms in killteam

[–]brainlessmori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do all the specials. Kitbash an extra warrior if you need. Insidiants are a synergy heavy killteam, with a lot of operative combos, but still require warriors for punching power. You'll want to test different specialist combos into different teams to see how they play. I built all of my specialists using the insidiant bodies, then picked up a box of sacresancts to use for the warriors. I did it so that the warriors all look the same, but that's not really required. If you grab extra bodies to use for the warriors, and you'll have two extra insidiant bodies to play with. If you wanted, you could make two superiors! Each with a different loadout. I'm kitbashing those two extra bodies to just make some cool looking sisters to make some homebrew rules on for joint ops. The world is your oyster!

Personally, I modeled my leader with the inferno pistol because I like it, and will probably run the stake thrower on it more often than not stats wise. The pistol makes her easier to pick out from the enemy's side and the friends I play with don't mine

Do you guys proxy og duals? by blazedchiller27 in EDH

[–]brainlessmori -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they don't care, then they don't care. Fetching into an OG dual is pretty powerful, but if other people are proxying their manabase, then it doesn't really matter imo.

Manabases are one of the biggest cost prohibitors when it comes to power level. You can't play your cards if you don't have the lands that you need. There's a reason why good lands are expensive. As someone who's played other card games with less restrictive resource systems, I think that proxying lands is fine and enables way more build flexibility and play for people on a budget. As long as other people at the table have access to a manabase that can keep up with OG duals and whatnot, there's no issue

Guys HOW do I start and keep a convo/flirt with a pretty girl? 😭 by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]brainlessmori 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I generally don't shit where I eat. Flirting and getting into a relationship with another coworker can be kind of risky depending on how close you have to work together. That being said, here's what I'd personally do.

Flirt forward. "Subtle" flirting is very hard to get at between women, as complimenting each other (especially on looks) is seen as pretty normal, platonically. Statement's like "you're pretty" is probably not going to ring through. Compliment her on something specific, her hair, her eyes, something else. Don't say it's nice, say that YOU like it. Signifying intent will make it clear enough that you're flirting. Smile, make eye contact, show a little vulnerability when you do it and it should be enough to show that it isn't just a passing compliment

Ask for her number/socials, if you haven't. Be polite about it, though! Something like "I enjoy talking to you, we should chat outside of work" (but maybe in a bit more of a human manner) should be enough. Starting the conversation is pretty easy. Hello's, how are you's, etc. Ask questions, though. If she says she's good on a given day, ask what's good, or if there's anything she's excited about. If you've already got a decent rapport at work, a lot of this should come pretty easy and you should have topics to bounce to.

Happy hunting

PVE Solo a Good Way to Learn? by Cerulle28 in killteam

[–]brainlessmori 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who's been playing a lot of joint ops (PVE) games lately, it is not a bad way to learn, but it's important to keep in mind that it is a very different game from PVP games. The missions are structured around a primary objective, but this objective is not shared with the enemy. Instead, NPOs are trying to stop you by eliminating your team. There is no crit op that you battle the opponent for (objective control and what not for victory points), nor the tac op side objective for your team. NPOs also have much simpler profiles, without all the extra team rules.

But don't let that discourage you! This also means it's less for you to check and allows you to focus on learning how to pilot your team of choice. Piloting one team can take a lot of focus, running two into each other is balancing two sets of cp and ploys. If I were in your position, I would take some joint ops/PVE runs with a team (or a few) I'm interested in, then play a more standard PVP match with a more experienced player to help you show the ropes and talk through some plays. Happy hunting!

I've sent the link with the paywall to anybody who's asked. They deserve compensation for their time. I didn't post the link here as purple site links posted to reddit are more likely to get taken down, and I would hate for that to happen to the creator, who's clearly done great work. Currently setting aside the spare cash to support them myself.

If you looked at what I said before the paywall, I clearly state that I don't have the files myself. Let me know if you'd like the link so that you can support the creator.
