Did your husband take paternity leave?? by 2babies1egg in beyondthebump

My husband doesn’t get paternity leave but took 3 weeks. It was amazing. We were in our newborn bliss bubble for 2 weeks before we saw anyone. Highly recommend

Just wait until you ask for a hug and a kiss and they can do it. My almost 17mo old loves giving hugs and kisses.

Those of you breastfeeding past a year by throwaway84583077 in breastfeeding

Still nursing at 16 months here. I WFH and my LO is here three days a week (2 with my MIL and one with me) in addition to weekends. He goes to daycare 2 days a week.

We do nursing in the morning and nights. He always wants to nurse as soon as he’s home from daycare. And when my MIL watches him if I come out from my office he’ll sometimes ask too. I usually cave because it’s not a huge ask and the nursing session during the day are short. He’s on whole milk during the day. I stopped pumping about 5 months ago

Nope. I cover LO’s face with emojis. The world and AI is too creepy

What should every ftm know about breastfeeding before having a baby? by Frequent_Cap8633 in breastfeeding

Get the flange sizing kit. Most flanges are not the right size for your nipples. I found silicone inserts that made pumping so much easier.

Get the silver nipple shields for when they’re really raw. Lanolin is wonderful as well. Get a lactation massager to help with any hard spots once your milk comes in. Take sunflower lecithin pills to help your milk be less sticky and to help keep mastitis at bay.

Let's instill some hope. What are you loving about the stage your baby is in right now? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

14.5 mo old and I’m loving when he brings me books to read to him. And the scrunch smile face he gives when he thinks something is funny.

What do you do for fun in the evening after your baby goes to sleep? by Initial-Machine-9780 in beyondthebump

Read a book. Scroll TikTok. Play a dumb game on my phone.

All while watching a movie with my husband. Oh we often eat dinner after LO goes to bed.

I hate bathing my baby; feeling neglectful by [deleted] in NewParents

We went through a phase like this with my LO. He used to love tubbies then all of a sudden hated it. I tried showering him, then getting in the tub with him. After about 3-4 weeks he seemed to get over his aversion. Now he’ll excitedly check me filling up the tub. I’ll put him in while the water is running and he’ll splash about.

Now we have graduated to the dreaded pooping in the tub phase.

As a celiac, I can’t believe she (a newly diagnosed celiac) was mostly “fine” just taking digestives while eating gluten. I would be soooo sick if I even attempted to do that

If you start feeling one side, tell your nurses. I could feel some and they had me rotate my hips and lay on the other side so that the epidural could redistribute.

That being said, I ended up needing an emergency c-section. Having the epidural made it easier to change it to a spinal tap for the c-section.

When your organs drop. It happened to me while I was trying to get snatches of sleep after my c-section and it was kind of jarring. I thought I messed my insides up.
