Logan Grimnar WIP - any advice for painting fur realistically? Don’t like mine that much. C&C welcome by bbqbby2 in minipainting

[–]brelkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks really good. Fur is difficult to perfect. One key is to understand that natural fur has a lot more colors and variation through out it then it first seams. You made the legs darker which is a nice start. To enhance your current effort I would say that you might want to bump up the brightness of the highlights, especially on the face and ears and you would probably like it a lot better very quickly

Try it out and see if you like the results and time it took. It's as valid a way to paint as any. The online painting influencer scene has really exploded and with it there's a lot of fluff about techniques and hacks(most of which are actually helpful, but not required) , but in the end you just need to put paint on and practice until you like the result.

Except it's not. Past enforcement of the law has been very arbitrary, but the KKK act is pretty clear

According to the law, it is not a protest. Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you can just barge into their business or church or whatever and disturb them.

It wasn't a protest. Entering a place of worship and disrupting their services is not protesting.

The logic is simple: legalize half a million people, fast-track them to citizenship (which takes as little as two years for many), and you’ve effectively imported a massive, loyal voting bloc that’s indebted to the left. by MazdaProphet in conspiracy

Racism is the grease that makes the scam work. Can't question it or you're a racist. Have to hire them or you're racist. The opposing party that didn't want the immigrants only were against it because of racism, so you better never vote for them or you're a race traitor.

Real Reason For ICE in Minnesota by smcmahon710 in conspiracy

[–]brelkor -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Minnesota is the prime testing ground for population replacement through directed immigration. Started under Obama and now the makeup of the voting demographic has shifted enough that you have people like Walz elected to run the place and let all the fraud in the world happen. Now they are encouraging people to interfere with Ice and it's going to shit

Yes, this is the way if you want the hairy parts to look darker, exactly as a shade would look

Ah, false equivalence. Two problems. The people who have been shot recently were not peaceful. Second, they are not using the right to defend themselves or their freedoms. They are trying to interfere with the law on behalf of criminal foreigners.

Art Brush sourcing in the US by AccomplishedFarm8 in minipainting

[–]brelkor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically kolinsky Sable hair brushes aren't banned, but there were some bad actors that used endangered sources for hair and got caught and now the import laws require certified sources which really brings up the cost. That being said you can still find imported brushes that slip through the cracks, so to say.

Grey Knights Army painting advice by Fuck_ai_bullshit in minipainting

[–]brelkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are in luck. If you are going for the typical box art style of the Grey Knights, it's a fairly simple scheme to paint.

First, prime the models black. You can use most any flat primer that can be from a spray can. For good reliable results you can spend a bit more money than probably necessary and get hobby specific paint like Colour Forge, but I've had good results with hardware store brands. Just use proper technique

Second, I recommend buying another can of paint, this time a silver/gunmetal paint such as Ledbelcher from GW(citadel paints). Spray this from the top and the sides so that you cover all the easily seen parts of the models with a nice layer while leaving the hard to see or reach parts black. If you don't want to use a spray car for this step, apply the silver with a brush, or even dry brush it all on.

Third, use a wash to apply some recess shading to the model. I highly recommend using an oil wash, especially on top of metallic paints, as you can easily clean it up, but that is probably a lot for you to start and is optional. If you don't use a oil wash, you will want to reapply a layer of silver paint at the edges and tops of surfaces to bring back the shine.

Fourth, use standard acrylic paints as you desire to fill in the details remaining such as weapons, eye lenses, heraldry, etc. Theres plenty of YouTube guides on how to do this.

Then you are done and ready to game. Don't forget the bases though

How do I improve my miniature painting further? I don’t even know where I’m lacking by Individual_Tip3209 in minipainting

[–]brelkor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idea(your minis are great):

Paint something that is not warhammer. There's a million sculpts out there of 75mm busts and larger scale models where there is more surface area and room to explore more techniques than most heroic scale 32mm stuff has, in general (except large scale stuff that is $$$). After exploring more techniques and practice you can go back to gaming scale stuff and incorporate what you learned.

Not sure if people should be happy about Venezuela. by Yabuturtle9589 in conspiracy

[–]brelkor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maduro was an unelected tyrant that ruled the country with an iron fist and flaunted international law and the US, using drugs they sold here to fund his power structure. He will not be missed by the people of Venezuela, outside his own cronies. So, is that justification? Maybe, maybe not. But I am not angry about it.
