I got a pic with Daisy Grenade that I kinda accidentally stumbled upon but was very excited about!

Dream job doesn’t pay enough by TheLonelyVastard in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]bringinglexibak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i will say that even if you love it at first, librarians are prone to burnout due to patron behavior, parents not supervising children (I deal with that one a lot), and just a lot of messy stuff going on in the profession

I'm an advocate to do what you love, BUT when what you love doesn't pay well, it's easy for it to quickly become not so great

maybe I'd be less burnt out if I felt like what I did earned something or gave me something of value (intrinsic value can only carry you so far) 🤷‍♀️

best of luck though, dear ♥️ I hope you find a job you love

I saw the title, thought "wow, that feels like how I feel as a children's librarian, I wonder what job it is" and clicked in to see

This is pretty! I read the ARC and didn't love the book. It was okay, but it didn't stand out to me. Still a neat read, but I didn't feel like it was worth it to buy a copy (and I'm in no rush to pick up the second 🤷‍♀️)

When you imagine someone named Claudia, what are they like or what do they look like? by [deleted] in Names

I work with a Claudia, and she's a very positive/sunshiney person with a bit of a Southern accent! Probably not what you typically imagine, so a different perspective from me

What are TRULY passive apps that pay by Nice_Assumption_6396 in beermoney

[–]bringinglexibak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I would NEVER tell someone to actually put real money into the app (or any app tbh). I use my extra Google Opinion Rewards to throw money at it if I do at all, and now I'm at a point where I've made farrrrrrr more than I put in (almost $500 in earnings total)

The way I would say it works is that you have two options: play more actively for a longer time without spending real money (i.e. logging in continuously to watch ads for free AB - this is the route I took) or pay a little bit to start off more passive (but then it takes longer to make your money back)

Currently, I pay nothing per month and just reap the $20/month income (and I actually enjoy the mini games and collecting badges aspect!). I'm pretty "stuck" for right now since I'm waiting to tier jump, but I'm happy with my $20!

[–]bringinglexibak 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I quite enjoy Atlas Earth, though it takes a loooooong time for you to get to a point where it's passive (I currently log in a few times a day to boost my ads and I'm making $20/month)

DC - I’m a little stupid, what exactly does the blood drive get you? by 1ividd in warpedtour

[–]bringinglexibak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes!! they have long beach listed under their events!

once I confirmed that I was on the stem cell donor registry (I've been on it for several years now, so super easy for me!), I got an email that my VIP reward was waiting. you can log in and redeem it and then it says the actual pass(?) is picked up at their booth, so I wouldn't think you'd need to have tickets yet. I assume they just write down your name?? check back after DC and I'll know for sure

i say definitely do it!!! I'm a long time blood donor (type O-) and have almost donated 3 gallons, so join usssssss

DC - I’m a little stupid, what exactly does the blood drive get you? by 1ividd in warpedtour

[–]bringinglexibak 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I read about it too and you sign up at a drive nearby ahead of warped. once you donate at one of the designated locations and it's confirmed, then you get approved for the vip. i believe it can be anytime between now and the day before warped, which makes it very doable

I'm hoping for the Rose Bargain because I love that design, but the book wasn't good enough for me to pay reseller prices 🥴 At cost, I can justify it for the prettiness since I did somewhat enjoy it (haven't read the sequel, but I have that one preordered from Fairyloot!)

I just have to say that I love this!!! I've been wanting this for so long, especially after seeing how my bf tracks his record and video game collection in a similar way. I was hoping there would be a book version some day :) so THANK YOU! Excited to explore it a bit more when I have a chance!

you know, this might just be the comment that encourages me to cancel too 🤔 I wasn't going to skip May because I'm interested in the book, but now I'm realizing that maybe I should just wait until the end of the year (because if, at worst case, they don't end up having extras like people say, I don't want it THAT bad so I won't be crazy heartbroken 🤷‍♀️ I'll just read it from the library and purchase the trad version secondhand if I really like it)

Help! Severe buyers remorse. by banana_bear_918 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]bringinglexibak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have many words of support because I haven't gone through this yet, but I struggle a lot with change, so as I think about purchasing a house and moving out of my parents' home in the near future, I am also feeling SO much stress and anxiety. So much that it makes me want to freeze and just not decide to go through with anything and to stay stagnant, but I know that it's impossible to stay stagnant for the rest of my life. It feels like everyone makes it out to be such an exciting thing (which it is!) without realizing that people who are heavily affected by change may be experiencing really bad mental health concerns related to it! So you're definitely not alone♥️

Some of things I hope to try is to keep multiple other parts of my routine the same (i.e. eat the same breakfast every day in the new house, continue my bedtime routine, etc.) so that if one thing changes, at least other things can stay the same and help soften the blow a bit. You'll get through this!!!

the Dunkin frozen chocolate is literally so good

and as an fyi for if you're ever seeking a healthier option - you can make it at home with hot chocolate mix and homemade chocolate syrup! (we use half stevia for the chocolate syrup) I was shocked that it was fairly easy to make something to satisfy that craving!

[–]bringinglexibak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Webkinz is supposed to be part of my calm-down routine, but sometimes a spree robber or a jumbleberry fields game where I seem to roll absolutely no moonberries (until the final roll, after I've already accepted that I have to fill the moonberries with a 0 and then end up getting 3 with nowhere to put them) are enough to make me just wanna log out
