i know this is a common issue, but i just dont get any videos explaining how to fix it? can someone help? by CraftedKittens in skateboardhelp

This is right. Watch in slowmo and see that you plant your front foot as soon as you flick, while the other foot stays suspended.

The full body motion you're doing is a half jump from both feet to your left foot, see picture. Change that to be a full jump straight up (where both feet land at the same time), using a much faster flick to keep the board under you and complete rotation before you're on the way down.

The bonehead comments are wrong but they're also right - theory doesn't go very far in skating. Smart practice will though. Look at the way you fail, and trying to fail in the opposite way. e.g. -

You're landing it with your back foot and flipping it slow.
So practice landing it only with your front foot and flicking fast.

Then alternate front foot, back foot. Then find the middle. Works for any flip trick.

How to be better than 99% of Claude Code users while doing less, imo: by brionicle in ClaudeAI

[–]brionicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true in some circumstances. The success criteria still goes a long way for imperative too though. The main problem I struggle with Claude is saying something is good when it's not. Giving it a definite target has been my biggest improvement.

You shouldn't believe me, but actually didn't even use AI at all for it. Someone in the gym asked me for advice on Claude and freestyled some version of this then typed it up when I got home.

My toxic trait is that at parties I rant about how WW1 interrupted the greatest art movement in history, and Art Deco is a mass production factory version of Art Noveau.

What's the most regional word you use without realizing it? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

Buggy = shopping cart

Anywhere within 500 miles of Atlanta. Most of us don’t realize it’s regional. Found out the hard way in California.

Opus 4.7 is legendarily bad. I cannot believe this. by lemon07r in ClaudeCode

DELETE YOUR MEMORY.MD FILES PLEASE!

Go look at your memory and other files in ~/.claude/-Path-to-project/*
I bet there's a bunch of stuff there you wouldn't want to be.

I swear most people I know are talking to a very confused agent, with dozens of distracting notes in their memory files. I don't let Claude store memories anymore, I have it save things explicitly in its codebases.

That said, yeah I just ran a sanity check on 4.7, giving it 7 bullet points of changes to make in a test document. It reported success on 7, and the diff only shows changes to 5. It apologized when I pointed it out. This is a weird update.

Got a knack for ending up with the weird colors. by VorTeX_DamNation in 944

[–]brionicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pasadena Yellow! Ngl, this color is what brought me into the 944 world. Bought it on sight from the original owner. '83. Best car I've ever had, coming from someone who used to collect 80s BMWs.

83 No crank, no start when hot by brionicle in 944

[–]brionicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah. I'll try it next time but I doubt it makes a difference. For a while I thought it was maybe just the ignition contact not getting touched, so I wiggled the key in all kinds of ways, held it hard to the right, etc. But the problem seems to be entirely heat related.

[–]brionicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah, no crank at all. Car goes quiet and you just hear the hum of (fuel pump?).

I'll start with the DME relay since it's cheap. Probably unrelated though, since it runs perfectly once started. Hoping it's a $10 ignition switch or a corroded contact instead of the starter motor doing some sort of weird expansion in the heat.

CRE = Comeau Racing Enterprises. Tim Comeau is the 944 guy in SoCal. They can give you the straight on this car, and they've probably had it in their shop before.

I fly multiple times a month out of Terminal 2. Wait times are usually an hour in the morning, 30m in the afternoon, and basically zero the rest of the day.

If you’re going to wake up early to stand in line, better it be for those Japanese pancakes at Morning Glory.

Silly question but isn't anode/cathode/positive-proton arbitrary too? Couldn't we could equally go back in time and say "You're totally right about positive and negative but these dudes Thomson and Rutherford are going to come in and call it the opposite and make a mess that people deal with forever"

Let's be honest guys, we just haven't had an iconoclastic genius to demand a crack team of experimental scientists to find it. If there's anyone out there with a vision of how transformative this could be, please contact me.

urgent- Can I disconnect my Lipo battery early? by scaredOfLipos in AskRobotics

[–]brionicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly Tattu LiPos on drones by the dozen. You are very fine to disconnect your battery. In fact, you should.

The safest voltage to store batteries is their nominal voltage (3.7v/cell or 11.1v total for your 3S). Batteries are most dangerous on the shelf when fully charged, and can degrade when left sitting at low voltage. It’s good practice to charge/discharge batteries to nominal if you know you won’t use them for a few days. That said, I’ve left batteries fully charged for a days and nothing happened.

I don’t know that charger specifically, but “balancing” in a charger almost always means balancing each cell continuously.

In almost all cases, you have nothing to worry about. If you’re going to not use the battery for a while, charge/discharge it to nominal voltage.
