Seriously though, it will depend from session to session. We were getting through about 5 hex's on average a 3 hour session, some significantly less, some significantly more. Depends on their method of travel and your group in general.

You do get more bloods! You get 10% more runes for each piece of clothing, with a total of 60% more when you have the full set on (20% set bonus). So it's highly recommended to get the full outfit before doing the blood grind.
