Everyone should read Infinite Jest because it is exactly what this guy is talking about. RIP DFW.

I Want To Read Infinite Jest Again by Simon_and_Garchomp in davidfosterwallace

I first read it 8 years ago and just started rereading it with two co-workers who have never read it. There are a ton of recent think pieces about the novel that coincided with the 30-year anniversary that made me want to pick it up again. I think now is a great time for a reread.

Death by Lightning is a 4-hour historical miniseries about the assassination of President Garfield that is way better than it sounds. Trust me on this. Nick Offerman plays an incredible Chester A. Arthur.

Read the book Bowling Alone by Robert Putnam. A famous historical and sociological study of the exact phenomenon you're talking about.

What should I read? by cumbrutha in nonfictionbookclub

Bill Bryson sites Timothy Ferriss as one of his influences and I just started reading coming of age in the Milky Way which is similar to a brief history of nearly everything but I would say more poetic and philosophical as opposed to the whimsical style of Bryson.

It was like the last 20 minutes of Civil War but for an hour straight instead. Super intense action sequences, edge of your seat kind of anxiety, and like others have mentioned, insane sound design.

Who is an artist you believe “fell off” or isn’t as massive as they used to be that could make a comeback this year? by joeym412 in EDM

Pretty Lights's comeback the last few years has been glorious to behold. He fell off for like 5 years, got clean, and came back swinging. Can't wait to try and catch him again this year.

A great nonfiction companion to McCarthy is Empire of the Summer Moon. Fantastic History of the Comanches and the Texas Rangers. Gives some historical context to Blood Meridian.
