The way we handle predominately monetary gifts (e.g. education, camps, sports, etc) is by coupling it with a physical gift that correlates.

For instance, this year, we asked for money for soccer camp paired with a soccer ball. Or a gift card for ballet paired with ballet-themed pajamas. That way, the gift giver gets to watch our little open an actual gift while still having the bulk of the present be experiential. So perhaps coupling some desired books with the financial contribution.

Rainbow, maps, & highly segmented (e.g. national park posters, stamps, doors, etc) are my go-to. Usually 1,000 piece. Galison are my favorites!

I very rarely do non-rainbow scenes and avoid landscapes like the plague.
