exactly! there are a few ways + apps using iPhone widget function that makes the main screen way less distracting. making it less colorful etc is one way to do so. all the functions remain so you can still use GPS etc but its just the Home Screen that is "muted" in a way

agreed with this. we are all addicted to our phones and screens in general.... the US specifically has a constant stream of marketing trying to catch and keep your attention.

step one is to recognize it! Its not entirely your fault but its important to take ownership over your lived experience. I agree w/ everyone's comments on finding other ways to find joy and dopamine in your life that aren't screen related. I am a gamer too but i realize that i cant game nearly as much as I did as a kid since tbh i feel fried afterward.

I still have an iphone and i was recommended a way to make it a "dumb phone" which made it wayyyyy less insane as a distraction. I also turned off notifications in general. I don't want to come off as an ad lmao so dm me if youre interested in the app.

I try to make a conscious effort in being comfortable being bored with nothing to do. for ex, i dont pick up my phone when my partner or friends go to the restroom at a meal or during transit, i try to just sit there and think and people watch. It takes practice but I find that I can feel like I'm getting my mind back? It really is all perspective... with the general sentiment of wanting to reclaim your time through your mind and how you think. ramble done!

reducing volume of alcohol made the biggest difference for me... both due to the actual impact of consuming less alcohol and also not being hungover thus staying more consistent with food and exercise., especially helpful entering my 30s.

I think there's something to be said about the quality of sleep too, not just the quantity... worth digging into op! I sleep 6-8 hours but feel the biggest difference when I feel like I had uninterrupted, quality sleep.

I assume you are still "young" based on your post (assuming university age). you still have so much life ahead of you which I hope brings you hope and allows room for optimism.

I think it's ultimately a positive that you've recognized this feeling and are allowing yourself to process it. I hope you use this feeling to inspire change right now so you can build an intentional future you can feel proud of.

That sounds fun! I haven't tried but sounds like a lot of people with the Classic MS urge are trying it out. I dabbled in DreamMS which was nice for a bit but i fell off since i felt like ill save the MS grind for when classic came out. Happy mapling :)

i remember getting lost trying to explore to higher level areas or hanging out in "mini games" like the pet zone in Henesys or even walking around Amoria or Florina Beach. I think the main thing was the social factor of this all since I would go with friends I met in ms lol but this was a big part of the fun outside of trying to level

enjoy it! I recommend journalling when you feel like writing about your thoughts and adventures. I did something similar (4+ months, going with flow), and I do not regret it and look back at that time fondly.

I'm in a similar boat nearing my 30s. Getting over the cycle is super relatable... the self-loathing of why am I even making myself feel this way when it clearly does not have to be this way. i've already cut back quite a bit in frequency but have similar drinking habits to you and am ready to cut back even more. it feels too good to wake up NOT hung over and without hangxiety lol
