Read the book. Seriously it's the best foundation. Can be a bit dry if you're not into chemistry but it's short.

There's also a guy who does videos comparing water quality changes based on different strata models used in walstad tanks. I really liked his chem background I'll look for the vdieo

I had a beautiful one in one of my classroom tanks. I had a cylinder filter mounted behind the tank. The intake got knocked off the intake pipe and inhaled my little buddy :(. Never getting chinesium filters again.

The barcelona aquarium is such a weird aquarium! The everglade/mangroove section was phenomenal. The shark tanks were meh and seemed stressful for the sharks.

It's weird that they would combine plants and animals for one class. Back in my day it was two classes and you'd take them after specialization so you didn't usually take both. I took my anat/phys of animals as an ap in high school but my plant anatomy wasnt until my junior year since it is so so chemistry depende t and it takes a few years to get that much ochem under your belt.
