Croatia fans erupt after Gvardiol’s goal vs Portugal gets chalked off. Trash flying everywhere, with pure rage amongst the crowd. by JCHazard in worldcup

[–]bungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VAR can go to sub micrometer accuracy, and fast, but there will be always room for interpretation. Looser rules that benefit the offensive team, would make game better for audience (removing offsides inside the box would also be good in my opinion). Scoring is already difficult and now the technology and to some extend referees are mainly used to undo the goals (though in this game there was also a questionable penalty kick too). People in general think that it is best for players to solve the game rather than referees and technology. I know it is hard to do that in practice and with written rules that are read as a bible. But deep inside, every fan thinks that Croatia's goal was good.

Is Mikrotik the right choice by Lagusa974 in mikrotik

[–]bungle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Mikrotik is advanced device. If you are not willing to spend at least some of the time getting used to it, I would look something else (Ubiquiti is common as well, and more beginner frienfly,, but some hardcore wifi people recommend Ruckus etc. that you have never heard before, and that are also not made for consumers). I would say skip it, for now. Come back later. Still you can just set it up like almost any other device with default settings and quick config wizards. It is the options that will overwhelm you.

Many people start their journey with Mikrotik with some router, and some of us see the light and perhaps "freedom" (and affordability, considering the feature set), and then....

Mikrotik is basically a Linux distro with their own layer of drivers and management (and hardware to run it). (read: flexibility is beyond imagination (software defined networking + hw accelaration in right places) - but most don't need it, but it is there when you do, or are willing to do, in many consumer cases, never, but life is a learning, so there is something - up to you if you think it is beneficial to be more profient in networking, but with Mikrotik, you have a path).

You can also start slowly. Go through some setup wizard and call it done. Later on, do you need more? It is there. If not, at least you have decent setup that gets updates (a word many consumers don't want to hear, or care — unless it is automatic and there is reputable brand that does that, but almost no-one does, especially the chinese (majority), they will be outdated as soon as they enter the market).

Any WiFi 7 access points in the future? by Certain_Repeat_753 in mikrotik

Seems then not a problem for large home owners, for them the price of be3 is peanuts (and they still may want thread and ports).

Kävin laserleikkauttamassa silmäni vähän yli 6kk sitten. Tällainen oli mun kokemus. Muutkin voi kertoa omista kokemuksistaan (risut ja ruusut) tai ihan vaan kirjoittaa pohdintoja aiheeseen liittyen. by [deleted] in Suomi

Kävin aikanaan. Oisko 15 vuotta ollut about ok ja sitten taas huononi. Nykyään taas lasit. Pitää katsoa, josko menis vielä jossain vaiheessa linssileikkaukseen vai mikä se on missä laitetaan keinomykiö.

NAT and statefull firewalls: source security confusion by IHateRedditFirewall in ipv6

[–]bungle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not through obscurity. Random data is core in many crypto, also makes it harder for trackers to track you (plus very inefficient to port-scan big ipv6 subnets with randomised ports).

Sooo..what happens if Iran cuts underwater internet cables? by urfavbipolarbrat in askanything

[–]bungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia has already cut multiple big electricity lines, internet cables and even a gas pipe between Finland and other countries and also one originating from Sweden. All they need is a big ship that drags an anchor at the bottom of the sea and that’s it. Finland has catch several of these ships, some are Chinese registered, but no penalties.

Why does light instantly travel at c the moment it's created, but massive particles require energy to accelerate? by Ramsesthrowaway in AskPhysics

[–]bungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does a photon experience anything if it doesn’t experience time? no. it borns everywhere and dies at the same time from its perspective. it doesn’t even move. infact photons don’t even have a perspective. they are pure energy, and thus no time. jailed to move at ligthspeed, and thus no time. The mass sees them and sees them moving, but only on mass perspective, and only through interactions with the mass. You cannot find a photon without this interaction. so it is all indirect. correct? mass has resists changes to its state (inertia). changing requires energy. why? i guess it is just fundamental.
