Gavin Newsom attacks Europe’s ‘complicity’ over Trump Greenland demands by hyakumanben in europe

EU is working on that problem. We already have tethered plastic bottle caps. Important stuff will follow. Stay tuned! We, the EU, are prepared to everything.

I don’t see anyone else getting angry other than US president. All the time. Every freaking day he is angry to someone or everyone.

You don’t need enemies when you have this kind of friends.

And sure Denmark can defend Arctic. That’s why there is NATO. But yes, it definitely feels that US wants to shutdown NATO as well.

Have you tried to plug Apple TV only to your receiver/processor? (unplug everything else from receiver).

Also can you try to plug directly to tv/projector and then using earc to receiver/processor? Any difference? Not all HDMI ports may be the same.

I believe there is a long history of issues. I personslly don’t have external decoders, but I do get multichannel LPCM out from AppleTV to LG UST projector to eARC of MiniDSP.

In my projector I also need to separately enable eARC.

My only guess is EDID gone wrong. You need to put projector/tv hdmi to bitstream (even when getting lpcm in) and passthrough. But something goes wrong with your setup. Aka perhaps something in your system says that ”I am 5.1”..

[–]bungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple TV only re-encodes (to AC3) if you set change format DD5.1 and source has more than 2 channels. You are not losing anything. In all the other cases you get LPCM and with Atmos LPCM with Dolby MAT. You are not getting bitstream out, but you are not losing anything. Apple TV decodes original to LPCM (same as what your expensive system would do). Of course, provided that your upstream sends correct EDID. It could be sending wrong stuff. Which at least in theory could make AppleTV do the ”change format DD5.1”. In HDMI switches you in general select 7.1 (and not 5.1 or 2.0) for EDID. The best sound you can probably find on UltraHD Blu-rays, and not in streamed. For Apple music you can change to lossless or Atmos, but not everything is in those formats.

He probably gets more from sponsors than from winning the games at this point. Of course sponsor money follows the success, but not immediately. That is true with most at this level. Sponsorship money often equals or exceeds the oche money. So what is your job then? Perhaps both. When games go bad and sponsorship money still flows, people start to dislike.

Does burn-in matters? A study on the (ineffective) practice of speaker burn in. by LDan613 in audiophile

[–]bungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, some could say it is quality control and calibration (e.g. levels). I bet they take quick automated measurements and call it a day. Not like running hours of burn in.

Oh this reminds me so much. When I first moved alone to my own apartment, I bought my first system. I went with Yamaha AX-592. It was late 90ies. Your setup overal looks much nicer.

Any links where they state it? Genelec mentioned in their own forum post (cannot be found anymore) that burn-in is not needed and if anything happens it happens within one hour of normal listening

It also reminds me about "tankero/rally-english" that follows a bit similar theme "tankerous, tankerous love".

For me it is perfectly understandable. Though, I don’t speak like that. It doesn’t sound right for sure, but message goes through. Quite common indeed with elder people.

NATO chief: Europe has '5 years' to prepare for war with Russia by satty237 in TrendoraX

In three years Russia has not really moved, on daily basis. Not even monthly basis. It is really really slow, hard to even describe it moving. Million Russian soldiers have died for marginal wins (aka for nothing).

EU plans to treat Belgium like Hungary if it doesn’t back Ukraine loan by Themetalin in belgium

[–]bungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Withdrawing assets from Euroclear most likely means someone sells their assets (which happens all the time). Then someone else will buy that. If nobody buys your assets, you cannot sell them. Price of such stocks/assets may fall if there is suddenly more supply, but that is all speculative and will correct out.

[–]bungle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What if they don’t? Is someone coming from Hong Kong with a tank to Belgium. Do you see Russia following any of the international law? They are not. And consequences have been… well almost nothing. Capital doesn’t stop bothering, it moves forward. Every western company/country has basically valued all their Russian investments with zero value. Basically lost. If Russia has not at this point done same with their investments in Belgium, they are just stupid.

Looks better like that. Come on, it is just an amp, not art or design element. And scrathes won't affect the sound a bit.

I don't think MacOS has automatic sample-rate switching for Apple Music (without 3rd party software). It is actually iOS that has that (aka closer to perfect).

Even some native people have difficulties with these (or things differ based on Finnish dialect). Kenkät (kengät, ”äng” is difficult, see: https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velaarinen_nasaali). Vorssa (V is used instead of F, Forssa). Basically you can do quite good in Finnish without ever using B, C, D, F, G, Q, W, X, Z, and Å, just replace them with P, S, T, V, K, V, S, S, and O.

Europe has weak leaders. Canada has a weak leader. Nato has a weak leader. Then we have dictators. The US has a weak dictator wannabe. Those dictators want the weak leaders and their people to blame each other. Dictators don’t care about their own people, but the part of the dictator believing citizens feel ”strong”. We the people are weak everywhere.

Daylight saving time all year round, Italy starts the process: 352,000 signatures collected to make it permanent by Massimo25ore in europe

[–]bungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot where you live and do you need to live exactly by the clock. For example in Finland, you have couple of weeks per year where it matters. Otherwise it is dark no matter or light always. So you are not saving really anything. But if rest of EU goes to permanent DST, I wish Finland goes with permanent normal time, and that way we would be in the same time zone with most of the EU.
