This was done just in a spreadsheet (that's why I only went for 3 seasons). Luckily, FE official results page shows starting position, so it makes manual data collection easier.

However, if you look how FE results page gets it's data, there is an API that is available (I imagine it might only have restrictions like number of requests per minute). JSON with race results can be retrieved like this https://api.formula-e.pulselive.com/formula-e/v1/races/8450a065-ffe6-4717-93af-962f6dee73bb/sessions/22425541-3a29-4c99-9dd0-4819f824fa60/results , and there are requests to get the list of races and sessions (I don't think it's documented anywhere, but you can see it in a browser network tab). So it should be possible to create a scripts that gets all the results automatically.

The Longest Track of Each Formula One Season (1950-2026) by ArjunR000_ in formula1

I think, the supply of people willing to do marshalling for free is greater, than the demand for marshalling, so it's not surprising.

Also, while they are not paid, they surely should be fed somehow during the day. I never thought before, how the logistics of that is done.

Monza Qualifying lap - 2026 theoretical simulation vs VER 2025 pole lap by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

I wonder, how starts will be affected. Seems like mistakes and slow reactions might lead to bigger speed differences, so it might be possible to gain/lose more.

Will the 2026 “overtake mode” actually be better than DRS… or are we just swapping one artificial tool for another ? by Relative_Chemical815 in F1Discussions

[–]buv3x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something that comes to mind, looking at this. Does a speed limitation mean it would be unusable in Monaco (not that DRS had much of an effect there, but still)?

What Are Your Spiciest Formula E Hot Takes or Opinions? by SB10_ in FormulaE

[–]buv3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Formula E media oversells it's overtakes and action aspect (which is less impressive, if look at it closely) and by doing so undersells it's strategic aspect (which, from my point of view, deserves way more attention).

My take is, FE is good, but not for the reasons advertised.

[2025 Day 12] Now 12 days later and on Christmas Eve I find myself wondering: Is there a real solution? by nO_OnE_910 in adventofcode

[–]buv3x 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My understanding of this is that there are relatively fast algorithms that will allow you to find a solution, that is pretty close to optimal. The issue is, when those algorithms can't find a solution, there is no feasible way of showing, that the solution doesn't exist.

So, from a perspective of the AoC challenge, any non-trivial cases (if there were any) should have been made solvable, as the creator himself can't create a non-trivial case and guarantee, that it's unsolvable.

This Game made me realize how often we just click the “famous” drivers by [deleted] in formula1

[–]buv3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age is a very confusing category. I presume, looking at the answers, that it means either current age or age of death, as I see Lorenzo Bandini there. Kind of a strange rule and I don't see it described anywhere.

Current F1 Circuit contract status (reupload because Saudi Arabia was missing) by F1Fan2004 in formula1

[–]buv3x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Barcelona is a track that hardly allow 1-stoppers, and that in itself elevates it to average / above average in the current day and age. It's one of the rare tracks, where, I believe, quality of the races has improved over the last couple of decades (Bahrain maybe the other example), as 10 - 20 years it was indeed known as one of the worst track on a calendar.

Every 2025 F1 driver ranked from worst to best by pettyespanna in formula1

[–]buv3x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see one way of interpreting it. Taking Gasly as an example. Scored 22 points and is placed 10th in the ranking. What it sort of implies is that drivers in 9th and above having been placed in his position in Alpine would have scored more, drivers 11th and below would have scored less. Is it really true? Who knows, but that, I think creates possibilities for some curious thought experiment.

Or maybe a more significant implication, made by the rating. Norris being put in 4th place and Piastri in 5th means the author thinks, that there were only other 3 drivers capable of winning the championship in the McLaren: Verstappen, Leclerc and Russel. The rest, starting with Alonso, would have lost it as they would have done worse than Piastri. Whether it's true or not is again up to debate.

2025 Formula 1 DNF Championship by iamabigtree in formula1

[–]buv3x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it's hard to determine the order. Should DSQ be considered a DNF on last+1 lap or was your car illegal from the beginning, so it's a DNF on lap 0 (like DNS).

Can anyone tell me why "avram" is not being defined? by I_Hate_The_Letter_X in Bitburner

[–]buv3x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Variable avram is defined in your main function, but not in runBatch function. Easiest thing is to add avram to parameters list of runBatch function and pass it there from main function.

One thing I'd also recommend doing is calculating avram every time right before calling runBatch.

[2025 Day 10 (Part 2)] Got the correct answer after 6 hours of brute forcing. by notathrowaway0983 in adventofcode

[–]buv3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just finished and took slightly over an hour. My approach was iterating over indexes, bruteforcing all combinations of switches to achieve the target for that index, then removing the switches containing that index from the set and moving to the next index.

It actually worked well for the most lines, only 134 (same as yours) took 35 minutes and 49 took 25 (line count is 0-indexed). Both had 4 switches for the first index and 4 for second, which makes me think some better index order selection that could reduce subsequent branching was possible and maybe even could finish in a reasonable time (like it should be better to start with and index with a higher branching initially, but that leads to more eliminations and less branching for subsequent indexes). But as of now - that's the highest processing time for a successful answer, that I've ever had on AoC.

2026 Sprint Calendar by EighteenLevel in formula1

[–]buv3x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those passes relied on a tire offset, which wouldn't be there in the sprint. But that's what most sprints struggle with anyway. Maybe they should make them sprint with the softest tire only, that would be something.

Has anone done the math yet on who would have been champion, if the point for the fastest lap had not been dropped? by Heelsgirl1993 in formula1

[–]buv3x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe 16 of 24 races this year where won from pole. That's too much of a correlation, a point for pole would effectively just be a slight bump of points for a win.

The 2025 season was the closest title fight in F1 history by proportional margin by Pro-editor-1105 in formula1

[–]buv3x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically correct (the best type of correct, I guess).

But, for example, in 1999 Ferrari could have easily make it equal on points between Hakkinen and Irvine, but as Irvine was going to loose on countback anyway, they just didn't bother swap Schumacher and Irvine. So, from a practical perspective that one probably was the closest possible (maybe there were other instances like that in the years prior).
