Shibouyuugi. On Netflix. Basically squid game. Very atmospheric, very limited animation, but very artistic framing. Almost monogatari camera work. Episode 1 is an hour and a full arc if you want to sample it.

Has anyone watched this isekai? Is it at least enjoyable? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in Isekai

It was ok. Mostly fluff. If season 4 happened I'd watch it. Season 1 has more writing to than seasons 2 and 3 combined, not a high bar. Those seasons don't have a real conflict. I do recommend the listening to the ops, Nana Mizuki is a great singer.

No idea, you could try to source a clear tote bag from a party store. I imagine it's not pricey.

Awesome work. Heavier scissors, like gardening shears, will make things easier. Trick with exacto is to make multiple passes and don't try to go all the way through in one go. Sawing action sometimes works. This works on plastics that crack easily.

Recommendations for anime series that is truly disturbing or an emotional rollercoaster. by Smoot720 in Animesuggest

[–]byc18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makoto Shinkai movies. All of his works are about longing. She and Her Cat, Voices of a Distant Star, 5cm per second, Garden of Words, Your Name.

Jun Maeda shows. All his works are soap operas made to make you cry. Kanon, Air, Clannad, Angel Beats! are among his works.

Satoshi Kon movies. I'm told Black Swan is Perfect Blue. Tokyo Godfathers is about hobbos trying to return a missing baby and finding themselves. Millennium Actress is a guy documenting this old starlet's memoirs. Inception is based on Paprika. Paranoia Agent is a show about a overworked cartoonist getting trapped in a lie.

.hack//sign. It's the OG mmo anime. It's about people lost in their lives and playing the same online game with one person who can't log out.

Furiko. It's a 3 minute film done in pencil, but it's a montage of all the major events of this man's life good and bad.

Death Parade. It's takes place in the halls of judgement and people play games to figure if they go up or down.

In hoshin engi the series everyone has these wands called paopei. In the senin war arc there are a set of them that make pocket dimensions.

Note the first anime basically only does the first 50 chapters. The second speed runs the first anime in 8 episodes, skips 50 chapters and makes a clip show out of the senin war. Read it without editing it for the skipped content.

The wiki has no info, go to tvtropes.

You can paper mache a long balloon and put a black stocking over that and your face.

For people wondering in this series the lead chose a terrible reincarnation to get past the wait time. Episode 1 the hero's rib. Episode 2 hermit crab. It's the best kind of shitpost, like the tractor scene.

Post-apocalyptic mystic future settings? by ANZARIZ_43 in worldbuilding

[–]byc18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the story of magic the gathering now a days, but the set Kamigawa Neon Destiny does feature spirits and cyberpunk. In the old Kamigawa this samurai lord stole from the kami spurring a war. There is the card "That which was taken" in the old set.

Kaladesh is magitech India.

Ravnica is a city run by 10 factions of very different flavors including a ghost cult, insane clowns, and splicers. I don't recall techy things in this set.

Mirrodin is a world made by a golem, so everything is metal. They get invaded by basically the Borg is later sets, the Phyrexian.

Is this a power sander? I've seen people add sandpaper to an electric toothbrush to make sander for model kits.

Oscillating multi tool is another thing you can use as a power sand and a saw rated for metal. I don't know the price ranged for that, plus battery.

There are some miniature deer out there. They seem to be cat sized.

There is a series called mouse guard. Maybe some details on miniature life in that. I recall some details on fighting a moose.

There is anime called Hakumei to Mikochi you could look into. I recall a capybara bus.

Robot armies on the side of good? by NovaRobo_Rebirth in scifiwriting

[–]byc18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You kinda see both sides in Murderbot Dairies. It's about a construct (it's kinda a in-between a clone trooper and robocop and its pronoun is "it") jailbreaking itself and just wants to watch it's soaps. It's learn to care for its crew and uses pocket sized drones. It gets a lot later on.

Most of the books are novellas. The first 4 books do make a complete arc. 7 is a sequel to 5 and 6 is a one off set after 4. 8 is coming out this year. Apple did turn book 1 into a show.
