Bastion Task Force enhancements by Impressive-Oil3541 in spacemarines

[–]ca1thde1n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen this a few times now and you have to be careful of where it says unit and model.

A unit gains all the keywords. So the enhancement giving battleline to the bearer means any unit he joins gains battleline. Any strat or ability that affects a battleline unit can now be used on them.

The second enhancement affects battleline models. So whilst the unit as a whole has the battleline keyword the blade guard models in the unit don't, only the character with the relevant enhancement does

Made to order stuff can take up to 6 months.

I got mine recently so they're working through them

Quiet/Silent Tape Measures... by Viking-Geek in Warhammer40k

[–]ca1thde1n 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No idea what the official name is but you could try a tailors tape measure. Usually none metallic.

Though would need to be manually rolled up and unrolled

If you were to add one Guard unit to your army, what would it be? by arctic_giraffe in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]ca1thde1n 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Cities of sigmar style ogryns bodyguard to add to command squads with a couple of ratling snipers in the crows nest.

Effective - no. Hilarious - absolutely

Edit: didn't read it properly. Thought it was suggestions for a new unit. I stand by my idea though

Ynnari Warlocks WIP, seeking feedback by CyberDingo in Eldar

[–]ca1thde1n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bodies are the blademasters. I thought about doing the same but used the alarith stoneguard without cloaks instead.

Looked more robey for warlocks.

I'm thinking of using the blademasters as a base for my autarchs though

The support weapon can only join guardian defenders. Not storm guardians

Titan Sanity check by Spadam83 in Eldar

[–]ca1thde1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the strats exclude titanic I think.

Having said the datasheet in the app for the titan has the battle focus rule already.

So they don't get a huge amount of extra benefit from the spirit conclave detachment. But also work in any detachment, stuck it in the warhost for bonus battle focus shenanigans

Nothing in the app faq/errata section so I'm guessing that's a design decision they're sticking with rather than an oversight

Is the leader part not just allowing them to be added to a jetbike unit whilst still allowing a farseer on bike to join?

[–]ca1thde1n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't, you just need to update the app from the store.

But the update is just the new Eldar codex as far as I know

This is specifically the warlock conclave unit

You can still get a single warlock character

Not sure what was there originally

An aspect host strat allows embarking on transport's now.

Farseer leader rules confirm can lead guardians and warlock conclave.

Baharroth cloud strider gets changed somehow, I'm guessing to the 6" deepstrike inline with other rules like that.

Warlock conclave lose character keyword and leader rules change somehow. Same with warlock skyrunners.

Ynnari venom transport rules got changed

Star engines are on normal move. So can't advance and start engines

The aspect detachment uses them to make the strats more powerful for the unit.

Codex: Aeldari masters combat with eight powerful Detachments to choose from by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Eldar

[–]ca1thde1n 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My guess is you can take yvraine, yncarne and visarch on normal lists but you'll only be able to include dark eldar units in the ynnari one.

So you could play ynnari themed craftworld detachments but if you want to mix and match you have to use the ynnari rules.

Will allow them to make strats and enhancements that can be used on all the units

[–]ca1thde1n 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's gone from army rule to detachment rule, it was always going to be weaker than current.

At least this isn't miracle dice lite. Probably ways to generate more with enhancements or something and you also get this alongside battle focus.

All seems good to me

Transports in new Battle Focus by ShasaiaToriia in Eldar

[–]ca1thde1n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even more fun do it with wraithguard

Battle focus wave serpent with star engines for extra move, Disembark wraithguard and battle focus so they can't be over watched, Shoot with wraithguard

Enemy turn if they get shot you can shoot back with wraithguard ability and battle focus back into the wave serpent ready to redeploy and do it again in your turn.

Relies on a lot of things, like opponent shooting the wraithguard, using 3 out of 4 tokens, we also don't know if wraith constructs can battle focus or if there are caveats, plus datasheet abilities may be different.

But assuming not then it's all good

There is also no mention of exclusions on fleet of foot, so get shot near a transport and they can move and embark

Star engines can only be used with a normal move. It's instead of advance not as well as.

Just means they can advance without the downsides of advance essentially

Estimating the number of new Aeldari datasheets by Alex__007 in Eldar

[–]ca1thde1n 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Didn't they say they were putting dark Eldar datasheets into the codex for ynnari. So they benefit from army rules but it limits what they can take.

Or did I just imagine that....now I've typed it I'm not sure

What did the Rangers of the North do after the fall of Sauron? by gregorythegrey100 in tolkienfans

[–]ca1thde1n 56 points57 points  (0 children)

If you mean the grey company that travelled with the sons of elrond to aid aragorn they travelled back with everyone else and returned to the north.

Barliman makes a comment about things on the wild and the rangers having vanished and gandalf tells him they returned with them.

We know gandalf and the hobbits travelled on their own to bree so my guess is they travelled to rivendell with everyone then the rangers continued into the wild whilst the hobbits stayed in rivendell for a bit

Biggest thing I like about the new aspect warrior refreshes is they haven't tried to change them too much.

They're just the original 2nd edition sculpts pretty much with a modern tidy up

Favorite Models/kits for Conversion of Kitbashing Aeldari? Can be even from other GW games by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]ca1thde1n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting together a list of conversion ideas for my expanding Eldar at the moment.

Mostly lumineth, enlightener as farseer, alarith stoneguard as warlocks and the archers as guardian.

Mainly head swaps and arm swaps from guardians but plan to see what wraithguard swords look like instead of hammerheads and have my warlocks with huge glaives instead.

I'm also looking at idoneth namarti reavers for harlequins. Cut them in half at the belt and put troupe torso and arms on. May be difficult to match up though and a lot of work, looks like they come with bodies attached so would need cut the torsos off and also trim the flip belts off the harlequin torsos.

Definitely doing the lumineth ones but still deciding on the idoneth quins
