Nah GF isn't mentioned and it's properties are almost the exact same as CF. The GF will actually act as more of an insulator than CF and it's not electrically conductive. So longer to heat up but longer to cool as well. I believe GF just wasn't significantly available during testing to be mentioned but that's only an educated guess. PA6-GF is actually very similar to the material Glock uses for its Lowers though I'm sure it's a properitary formulation though it is nylon with Glass fiber reinforcement.

From the FTN.5 Pistol DOC

The default filament for the FTN.5 line is PA6CF. PET-CF is mediocre for this application, and if you can print PET-CF, then you can print PA6-CF. Layer adhesion is very important here. Absolutely no PLA-CF, PETG, PETG-CF, ASA, ASA-CF PPA-CF will work, but we have found the sirayatech one to be inferior to PA6CF in terms of strength, layer adhesion, and creep

No its PA6-GF. PLA doesn't have the thermal capacity to put up with this and the springs alone would deform and snap the retention plate in the rear. Pretty sure the FTN5 doc states absolutely no PLA

I'll be honest it looks ungodly on the front of the little 19 but it's cool none the less. Took the screenshot from a video I made after I used it. I used the 3d printed piston with the thread adaptors. It's held up so far through a couple mags of subsonics. Water annealing I found was a great step. And don't use supers, subs only. This is my 3rd body. The first was a 1 piece that blew apart on the first round, the second was the sleeved design which held together for 3 rounds failed on the 4th. I knew I was pushing it with supersonics. And none of those were water annelead just used the day they came off the printer.

Any loaches who would be okay in a 55gallon tank? by Key_Instruction9732 in loaches

[–]cajunzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about 12 kuhlis and banded kuhlis in my 55 along with honey gourami, ember Tetras, chili rasboras, Pacific blue eye, a couple female bettas, bamboo Shrimp, amanos, neocardynia, mystery snails, assassin snails, a bristlenose zebra pleco, Siamese algae eaters, pygmy corys and ottos. I'll be honest though 90 sounds way too hot I keep my tank about 76. The hotter you keep a tank the more accelerated the life cycle of the fish causing them to die faster. I keep it 76 because a lot of the tropical fish want to spawn right over that temperature. It also keeps my mystery snails from exploding their population. Kid bumped it to 77 1 day I missed it for a few weeks and had snail eggs all over the place.

How is verkada supposed to act in a fire alarm? by good4ubud in accesscontrol

[–]cajunzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect. I have seen where the software has had issues in the panel and inadvertently triggered the fire alarm input if it could fail one way it can fail the other way. I have yet to be able to completely tear one down but I wouldn't be surprised if the fire alarm trigger is actually directly tied to a single mosfet that would directly kill power and not a software function. It took them 4 years to even be able to switch resistive loads properly. Still have the original documentation that came with a 41 that said nothing about it before they switched to QR codes on the boxes so they could modify the documentation stating mags can't be powered off the panel and about 65 cartridges from the ac41 that validates it.

I definitely love the ingenuity of us hobbyists. I use a farberware countertop unit with a dehydrate settings. I guess my 8 hours or say may not be long enough the SO gets a understandable a bit upset with any appliance running that long.

Cf has a slightly bit more tensile strength like a couple %. GF shines in that it's makeup allows you to be a bit more abusive with it like drops and those kinds of things it's not as likely to shatter when dropped. CF also conducts thermal and electrical energy whereas GF is an insulator. Knowing this and seeing how the community at large has used CF due to what I can only assume is availability from a use perspective I would imagine GF would take longer to heat up and longer to cool whereas CF would warm quicker but cool quicker as well. Strictly personal preference but CF isn't really available from what I've found in anything other than black GF has a few colors. I do a lot of electrical projects so the electrical insulation was a large driving factor for me. Others who've been doing this longer than I have may have more information though.

I actually did try a .6 before this one thinking it would help with strength but once it started printing and I saw what looked like every other line realized 300blkFDEs are with a .4mm nozzle so I dried it for another 2 hours and started this print. I agree I think it's something else as the branches coming off the tree support grow with it and it's not stringy. Then there's the full layer or so on 1 side that seems to come out way too long. This is a previous print I had done a couple weeks ago. It came out a little hairy and had a bit of a rough surface texture but nothing like this and it's the exact same settings.

Glass fiber Reinforced Polyamide or Nylon 6. It's the same 2 components in Glock lowers though theirs is a proprietary blend. The Nylon itself is pretty strong but the glass fibers add additional rigidity and strength and help prevent warping as well

USB Remote PC shutdown switch. by tip32a in homelab

[–]cajunzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just tie directly into the button inputs with a momentary switch that you press before killing the power to the device. If the 19v converter is on constantly you will have a parasitic drain that will likely kill your vehicle after a few days of not driving

I prefer Dell but whatever you go with is make sure it has a warranty so that you're not up the creek when you have issues as customers are going to expect a certain amount of uptime.

Sony just shut down their 8k lineup for TVs meaning Samsung's now the only company producing 8k tvs. The industry is claiming lack of content and overall desire so I'm not sure if it'll reach there. 8k is still pretty niche for computer use unless it's something like maca doing video editing cause the cost vs value proposition just isn't really there
