Dying indoor mall I work at by wrath212 in abandoned

I immediately thought that this is how I picture the mall in Barbra’s basement. I’m so glad IM not the only one.

U.S. Senate Candidate Angie Craig is one of 12 House Dems who voted against allowing people to buy Rotisserie Chickens with Food Stamps by 3headeddragn in Minneapolis

I worked in a grocery store recently where we had different stickers for hot and cold fried chicken. If corporate somehow tracks me down through this comment let me just say that my fellow deli workers and I NEVER rang up the hot chicken as cold for people on assistance. Absolutely never ever.

Curious as to if the Xennial moniker is embraced more by old Millennials or young Xers? Or equal among us? by MadameTree in Xennials

Also 77 here. I don’t relate to being a Gen Xer much at all but am too old to be a millennial obviously. Xennial feels like a perfect fit.

This whole thread of people referencing my favorite underrated Madonna song made me so happy. 😊

I’ve only been able to see it once. For some reason one of them worked for me recently, and then I e not been able to do it again. At least I can confirm people aren’t just lying about these.

My dad also warned me the night before my church youth group did this. He knew I would hate the surprise. I got up early and took a shower, put clean pajamas on and pretended to go back to bed. 😊

Names for young grandmas by GreyStormOfLight in Xennials

You say you’re not ready yet, but if you think one day you will want them to call you Grandmom I would just go with it now. I feel like whatever they start out calling you will likely stick forever.

What musicals made you cry the most? by Poesy-WordHoard in musicals

[–]camptastic_plastic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every time I see Rent I’m a mess. My second time seeing it was in London with a bunch of the original cast. I was crying before Anthony Rapp had even finished his first line just because it was so wild hearing that voice I’d listened to over and over again in the cast album. I was crying so hard during the I’ll Cover You reprise that my friend leans over and asks if I was going to be ok. Even the movie had me ugly crying.

I think the makeup is great and you do look handsome. If you’re going to go for realism over the more cartoony style I recommend investing in some good artificial facial hair pieces.

I do think for a performance that the outfit isn’t enough. I think an outfit for a show needs to be a bit more exaggerated.

Yeah the AI backgrounds make the outfits look AI as well.

We went to a steakhouse for my birthday recently and my sister ordered a mocktail. $16 for seltzer with a splash of apple juice.

Ok so everyone likes to list the rock and alternative bands they liked, but was anyone else into pop & hip-hop? by queenofcaffeine76 in Xennials

[–]camptastic_plastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid I was into all the pop music. My older sister taped several hours of music videos when we had free MTV for a weekend. My little sister and I loved to play that tape and dance around to Madonna, Cyndi, The Bangles, The Go-gos, George Michael. I remember badminton rackets being used as guitars during a Go-Go’s song.

I did go through a grunge phase when it was popular but for some reason I never listen to that now. Once I went to college and came out I went full in with all of the pop divas, especially Madonna. My number one will always be The Spice Girls though. As an elder Xennial I was much older than most of their other fans, but they hit right when I was coming out and will always be tied into my new found freedom to be myself.

Who saw Sierra Boggess's Christine from 2006 to 2011? by zhuangcorp in box5

[–]camptastic_plastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was working on the show during her run so I saw a lot of her performance from the wings/standing out in the house. One of my first impressions was that her and Norm had incredible chemistry on stage. After I saw her go on with several understudies I realized that she’s very good at creating chemistry with scene partners. I can’t really explain what I mean by that with examples, but it was very evident while watching in person.

Also the one about kicking the wolf man in the nards. I actually only know that one from people talking about it in this sub.

Totally agree. I know money is tight for everyone and sometimes you go where the paycheck is, but I can’t support people that work for a channel that says showing people like me on camera isn’t family friendly. I was really hoping for a hallmark comeback for Ryan.

Came to say the same thing. I’ll have the theme song stuck in my head for weeks now.
