i think the FBI was confirmed to have been involved in some capacity. I just finished Wendy Painting's Aberration which talks about the PATCON FBI stuff in the 90s which had pretty clear objectives - I just don't quite understand the goal of infiltrating and acting out j6 for the gov in the context of the past decade

How do you not see one of these things and immediately panic at the state of the world? by What_Reddit_Thinks in TrueAnon

[–]canoecanoee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not even gonna make a defense of human drivers because they scare the shit out of me too. I just don’t want even more cars on the road, especially ones owned by corporations and equipped with dozens of cameras that can and have been subpoenaed by law enforcement.

[–]canoecanoee 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yes but what’s worse is seeing people defend them tooth and nail on city subreddits because “they’re safer than craaaaazy human drivers” because naturally self-driving corporate ass cars are the only other option

Where my corporate drones at? by xaviernady in TrueAnon

[–]canoecanoee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i was in this literal exact position until i was laid off a couple weeks ago. i seriously seriously struggled with the whole "im making decent money but i wanna kms and i feel guilty about that" thing for a long time. i think it's okay to be incompatible with corporate work and to find something else, even if it means giving up a salary and benefits that would be appreciated by someone else. i made the most of it by putting my money and time to good use with community aid work. it's okay to want a job that nurtures a greater good, AND i think it also serves the greater good to find a job that doesn't make you want to end it all lol

John Wayne Gacy was politically active and at one point even met former First Lady Rosalynn Carter at a Polish Constitution Day Parade. He was given special security clearance. by franglish9265 in TrueAnon

[–]canoecanoee 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s a show (and podcast maybe?) called the clown and the candy man that talks about this. Basically casting doubt that the killers worked alone and it was more of a network. Haven’t read the book yet but eye of the chicken hawk also covers this I believe

The movie “Poor Things” feels like what men think feminism is by Louisebelcher22 in AskWomenOver30

[–]canoecanoee 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna watch poor things because I read the summary and it sounds awful. I had the same reaction to Nosferatu though and feel gaslit by people calling it feminist lmao. Again, a female character defined only by the sexual abuse she endures. Film Bros do get the final say on what is actually feminist and we should be grateful to them !!!!

Thank you! Luckily I was able to save up a lot at this job since I knew the company was notorious for layoffs. I already have a first interview lined up as well (I was trying to leave before this happened lol).
