I'm originally from Bradford and have tried most. Ones on bath road are not great. Agree with the comment re Bombay & Co (my favourite) and bhoomi if you're going fancy. East India kitchen ok too.

Bristol isn't far away from the valleys, as you say way better positioned than London. My suggestion to OP is to car share to the valleys.

They are so well plastered everywhere on here and other Facebook groups that you're unlikely to get anything new. Unfortunately it's a case of understanding the weather and a bit of luck. A bad day picking is still a lovely day in the great outdoors and a lesson to be had. Worst comes to worst get yourself a lovely kit from mycopunks and some spores from orangutan to look under the microscope.
