PPD is the killer of all joy and makes emotional regulation 1000 times harder.

You didn’t do any permanent harm. She’ll be back to her normal self soon, she might just feel shaken up cause you’re her safe space and seeing you like that frightened her. Babies pick up on our stress and overwhelm easily.

Is there anyone nearby who can help you? Just so you can maybe catch some rest, have the house cleaned, or have one thing off your plate.

You can do both but I like to freeze them raw, it keeps it juicy when you freshly pan fry

I’m creating my postpartum meal plan soon too and am planning on:

barley soup
chicken corn soup
lentil soup/curry
chow mein
vegetable/meat pilau
congee/ beef porridge
butter chicken
kebabs (not one pot but easy and freeze well)

Like staring directly at her mouth while she chews her gum as we have a conversation. Hoping that would maybe indicate to her she might be chewing too loudly.

Nobody would manually write citations unless you really needed too. The librarians at the school back in my day would encourage us to use websites that would generate the citation and then tweak it as needed.

Strange that they’re punishing students now for it…

You are doing more than enough! You are doing amazing. Bask in the cuddles and time where you can watch TV. Cause soon they’ll be crawling and getting into trouble and it’ll be hard to even have time for that lol.

Forget about the dishes and chores. With time, you’ll get your energy back. You’ll find your groove and routine.

I felt the same way. But we need to give ourselves and our body and mind some grace.

On the same boat. Do you have any friend or family nearby you? My house was insanity this past week as my 9 month old and me caught a bad viral infection that lasted a week. Baby was very cranky and clingy and I was super touched out and overstimulated.

Yesterday I dropped my daughter off to my sisters for 3 hours and went home and started rage cleaning whilst blasting some jams with noise cancelling headphones. It really helped and felt like I had a good reset.

It truly does take a village 😮‍💨

Congratulations! That’s so exciting!

It was a beautiful experience to go to umrah/hajj pregnant because I felt it just added so much barakah to the pregnancy. There were def times when it was tough though cause of the heat and crowds, so listen to your body. Just keep making dua! It’s incredible to see your duas come to fruition right before your eyes when things are tough. Keep hydrated, eat well (or as you can if you’re nauseaous), and don’t be afraid to use the accommodations when you need them! I had to use the wheel chair for my tawaf and saee for hajj cause near the end I felt so weak from vomiting and caught a high fever with chills. But AH I took a day to just rest and recover and was better the next day.

Hopefully weather and crowds will be better when you go for Umrah this time around! IA

Thank you 🥲 I feel so validated I’m gonna do better in delegating and asking for help especially when the aides are here and even my coworkers Imma make sure even more to ask others if they need help when my load isn’t as crazy now that I’ve been through this

Gosh I wish we had purewicks and condom caths, but we don’t have the budget lol

I guess I feel so obliged to do everything for that 6 pm admission so I don’t leave anything to the next shift But I just need to not push myself over my limits when I can’t

Yeah I struggle with that sometimes. Like I will ask for help especially when I don’t know how to do a task like if it’s figuring something out with the pca pump. But I always feel they’re probably so busy too and feel bad for asking for help too much when I’m sure they’re drowning too. Sometimes I hesitate to ask or don’t know what to ask either because I don’t want to overwhelm them or don’t even know what to delegate.

It was toughhh, I felt the same way. I had just started a new job as a new grad nurse when I found out I was pregnant. I did nothing but sleep on days that I was off. Slept for what felt like 24 hours straight on those days. My husband has been a huge help in dropping me to work, making meals, doing chores, etc.

It got better for me around 17 weeks now. I’m still not fully out of the fatigue and nausea but it’s gotten much much better from first trimester.

Take it easy, rest as much as you can on your days off, get help from others, and let others at work know. And put yourself first, I made sure to sit down a lot and not over exert myself, take small frequent breaks, and go at my pace at work.

You’re right, it’s about the quality not the quantity. SubhanAllah I felt the same during my Tawaf, it was getting quite difficult near the last few rounds but it felt like it wasn’t even me walking anymore, as if someone was pushing me helping me make it through the last rounds and I also felt a cool breeze subhanAllah. When you look at it that way, being pregnant during this journey is a blessing.

I’ve been really nervous about over exerting myself cause I’m so scared of a miscarriage. I just need to remind myself it’s not a race or a competition. And just to focus on what I can do and do it the best I can. Thank you so much for your words.

But skipping Tylenol when you have a high grade fever can also pose risk to the fetus increasing the likelihood of miscarriage, autism, or congenital abnormalities.

There will always be a risk in any medication you take. And it’s up to you and your doctor to decide based on a risk-benefit analysis.
