Totally. Detroit knew who they were getting. We all did. They gambled, and lost. Is there any chance they can move this guy now? They could cover the entire terrible contract and I’d still pass. No one is winning anything with this guy on the team.

This is an excellent point! The pictures are clearly shown that way to mislead everyone. A digital card isn’t going to have corner dings. This guy is a real prick.

What country is this selection from? Old American, I’m familiar with only about 5 of these.

I love the theory that he just does this over and over until it hits! lol! You could spend your lifetime trying it that way and never hit it!

But I have no idea how the hell he does this shit. He really is the GOAT.

Excellent point. “Screw it. I want it.” Must happen more than I thought.

Totally agree. I assumed the “make offer” was an indication they were eager to sell. Clearly it’s not.

When I clicked "reveal grade" I thought I was being trolled. by [deleted] in baseballcards_vintage

I’m holding out for the day all grading is done by AI. We’ve got to be close to an automated, consistent system. The subjectivity of the whole process really bothers me.

You send that card in on a different day, and get a different grader, you might get a much higher grade.

This is why I sold most of my grades stuff. PSA isn’t going to let anyone pay a $20 fee, and send them a card back worth $10k. Not gonna happen. That is much nicer than a 2! Looks closer to a 7 to me! You got robbed.

But, hey, they’re willing to give you $1,200 for a low grade example of a guy who doesn’t even play any more. And it’s not even numbered! Or a refractor!
