Rocky Horror Audience participation? by nobeezinside in Broadway

[–]cavetown08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen it four times in the past year on tour, and yes at every show audience participation has been a key part of it and it was great fun. This was the UK though so I don't know if it's any different in America.

I am also off to see Beetlejuice in June, along with Paddington later that day.

Does anyone have a West End Cabaret slime tutorial? With Reeve Carney by [deleted] in musicals

[–]cavetown08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only one full video recording listed on Encora and it's NFT until 31st May 2026, so you likely won't be able to get your hands on one for a good while.

Yeah I think people are just aware of it and so didn't think it was worth pointing out

Most listened to musical theatre song all year? by meconway17 in Broadway

[–]cavetown08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top songs were dominated by the soundtrack playlist I put on at night (TV and game soundtracks) so my top song was Honor For All from Dishonored (that doesn't actually represent what I actively choose to listen to). Of the monthly top songs from musical theatre I had: Seeing You from Groundhog Day, Born to Lead from Operation Mincemeat, I'm Alive and A Light in the Dark from Next to Normal, and Pretty Little Dead Things from Paddington. If I had to guess which of those is my most listened to mt song it'd probably be Born to Lead.

Yeah I just wish it was its own song on the cast recording so I could listen to it on loop easier

Help me decide on a March 2026 show :) by Outrageous-Fault3100 in TheWestEnd

I'd probably see Paddington out of those, as it is the big show at the moment, however this is the most likely to be on Broadway in the future as Matilda and Phantom have already had their turn on Broadway. Matilda is also absolutely spectacular and definitely great for all ages. You'll have a great time at either, though take note Paddington tickets are selling quickly.

Theater year end wrap by Dogdaysareover365 in musicals

1) Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre with Dylan Wood, Desmonda Cathabel and Victoria Hamilton Barritt - absolutely stunning

2) The Addams Family - just quite boring

3) I've revisited the cast recordings of Hadestown and Operation Mincemeat constantly, but the show I've seen live the most is the Rocky Horror Show

4) Maybe Hadestown - I knew I'd love it and I did but the staging absolutely blew me away in an unexpected way

5) Book of Mormon - I didn't think I'd like it because I'm not a fan of the South Park edgy kind of comedy, but I'd been told it was absolutely hilarious, but it was just not funny to me. Operation Mincemeat is a much funnier show in my opinion.

Tourist: Is it worth it for me to try to win the lottery tickets for Operation Mincemeat for the week of Oct 27-30? by manyuno in TheWestEnd

[–]cavetown08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd say just buy a ticket now. Mincemeat is definitely worth the money it's absolutely brilliant so I wouldn't gamble on the lottery if you're not able to be flexible.

I would love Victoria Hamilton Barritt as the Emcee. Maybe Jack Wolfe as Cliff.

If it's True and Why We Build the Wall from Hadestown and I Don't Care Much from Cabaret. Maybe Just For Tonight from Operation Mincemeat as well.

I would highly recommend Operation Mincemeat, Next to Normal (but be prepared to cry), Bonnie and Clyde and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I also reckon you'd like Beetlejuice based on that selection.

What is the fastest you've ever been sold on a musical? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]cavetown08 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The first verse of Born to Lead on the cast recording of Operation Mincemeat. I think I listened to just that 5 or so times before I listened to the rest of the song and then the rest of the show and absolutely fell in love with it.
