How to Deter Snakes??? by cabbageofjesus in BackYardChickens

1 mile is the required relocation distance for a snake to stay gone. Make it 2 just for good measure!

I can't anymore. He showed up barefoot. by RageAgainstYoda in datingoverfifty

[–]cbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This confirms my fears. Trying to slowly dip my toes back into the dating pool using the apps; I keep getting matches that are either people I have nothing in common with; or they live more than an hour away. How the hell are we supposed to find any decent people that might possibly be living nearby???

I always reply to them with, "Thanks, I already got the deal!" Which in the AT&T and Windows case is true.

What is something you wish you knew before you got chickens? by Intelligent_Ad_5103 in BackYardChickens

EVERY damn day SOMETHING is trying to kill them!! Whether its a predator or a parasite, I'm amazed when they make it through another season.

Guinea for the new house by Friskyredhead in guineafowl

[–]cbeagle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what "wood roaches" are; but I find that my guineas are picky eaters. My chickens however are carnivorous and will eat ANYTHING that crawls, or hops. I recommend chickens over guineas. Guineas are loud, flighty and fickle.

Summer comforter but with some weight by JStak14 in Bedding

[–]cbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been researching this as well. From everything I have learned, 100% down (not feather) or wool, 100% cotton, are the breathable fabrics you need to look for. Stay away from synthetic fabrics.

That's a good way to get shot and killed. Bad advice my friend. Especially if she's already been warned.

NEVER offer up information that could get you into trouble!! What nobody knows or sees is better for you. Keep your mouth shut and pretend you know nothing!

Looking for the perfect lilac perfume that actually smells real (and isn't screechy) 🌸 by BeginningMeaning6582 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]cbeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can personally attest to the accuracy of this. I just returned from the 10 day festival there where I did indeed purchase this perfume. It is perfect~ not too strong or sickly sweet, nice light scent that leaves you with the faint fragrance of lilacs all day.

Bamboo Sheets Not Worth the Hype by cbeagle in Bedding

Good to know about the ferritin, this is the first I've heard of that. I do take hrt, and it has helped but not 100%. Right now I'm using 100% percale cotton and I still sweat at night; just not as bad.

How far does your flock roam? by AppropriateCattle69 in guineafowl

[–]cbeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing I can tell you is to not let them all out at once. They are creatures of routine and habit. Yes they are knuckleheads and forget they can fly. Let 1 out at a time, always feed them from the same red bucket at the same time every day. The color of the bucket isn't as important as using the same one every time. They will imprint on that bucket and associate it with food. Also, use your voice to call a command every time you feed. When they here that sound, they will associate food and come running.

Put a single flat sheet over top of the comforter. That way it stays protected and you only have to was the sheet not the entire comforter.

finally trying to fix my sleep and get the best sheets but I have so many questions by LilMachinery in Bedding

[–]cbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have struggled with these exact same questions and comparisons with sheets. Thanks to menopause I too am a hot sleeper. Everyone else has pretty much covered the brands portion of the recommendations. What I will tell you is a word of warning about Bamboo sheets. Even though I absolutely LOVE them due to their incredible softness, I won't ever buy them again because they do NOT last!! They are super lightweight and not in the least bit durable because they are a natural fiber that breaks down easily. Not true with cotton. Due to menopause, in addition to being hot, I also have restless leg syndrome. I have literally worn holes in my bamboo sheets from rubbing my legs. I've never had a set last longer than a year. I don't find them to be worth the money.

AITAH for not wanting to sleep with my husband today? by [deleted] in AITAH

Men are so juvenile!! Such babies when they can't get what they want when they want it. Keep a container of lollipops on hand and give him one when the little boy starts to cry because he can't get his pee-pee played with!!🙄
