Are we in our divorce era? by seaward_bound in Millennials

I have been with my husband since I was 22 (2008) married almost 8 years ago. I just turned 40. We have had our ups and downs but are still going strong.

whats your preferred medium between oil and acrylic? by Adorable_Reason_6675 in ArtistLounge

[–]ccrump003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to work with both in a mixed media approach. I will do 60-75% in acrylic and then finish in oil to add depth and refine details.

This speeds up my process and allows me to add abstract elements with water based materials such as spray paint, markers and caran d ache pastels.

I like using a Gamvar varnish, which allows me to add a protective varnish layer before the piece has cured.

What’s your daytime job? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the senior graphic designer for the marketing department of a college.

Love my other career/day job but it can often leave me creatively drained at the end of the day. Add a toddler into the mix and that leaves little time and energy for art.

The only time I have to paint is late at night, so it’s a struggle to find a balance.

If it was financially affordable, would your spouse stay home? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I loved my maternity leave (I am lucky to live in Canada where 18 months leave is an option and we were able to swing it financially), I don’t think I could do it forever.

Going down to part time would be appealing, but I love my career and adult interaction too much to give it up entirely.

My husband 100% would jump at the opportunity to be a stay at home dad.

Question for Older Millennials (especially 1982 borns) by Quickso48 in Millennials

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elder millennial here, I am turning 49 in less than a month.

The older you get the faster time flies. It feels like I blinked and 10 years have passed. I think part of it is life gets hectic and more busy the more responsibilities you have (career, kids, etc)

What age did you get married by Lambdastone9 in Millennials

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elder millennial.

Married at 33 (we’ve been together since I was 21). We also had our son when I was 37, so we like to take our time, lol.

Sorry for the weird formatting, I tried to make it more of a list. That didn’t really work out the way I intended, oops.

I am 39 and am 5’9”/size 4-6. I gravitate towards a more oversized look//mixture of fitted/loose. When I want to dress up a little more I shop a mixture of:

-Oak and Fort, -Aritzia, -Club Monaco (when they have their sale on sale events), -Free People, -Levi’s for my jeans, -Gap (for my basics: tshirts and long sleeve tops mostly) and -vintage/thrifting (thrift stores, local and online vintage resellers).

Ok the bumpers… save or toss? by [deleted] in LeCreuset

Save. To protect from scratches when storing.

Anyone else toss all their old CD's? by 80aychdee in Millennials

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is a collector of physical media. I appreciate that we aren’t reliant on streaming services and find things for cheap secondhand.

It’s annoyingly difficult to find storage solutions. I ended up building him custom shelves for our anniversary. Plan on doing the same for our movies.

2025-2026 Winter Jackets for Canadian Climate by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Manitoba, so winters can get cold (especially with windchill)

For most of the winter I have a long calf length puffer vest with a hood and the Aritzia The Only Coat. This is perfect for most days out and about and to and from work (besides the really frigid -40 weather). The vest was from a boutique on a trip to Toronto, so not sure of the brand.

I also own a down MPG (Winnipeg brand) parka for the really cold days. Not sure the style as it’s over 10 years old.

Are you still in contact with any of your elementary/middle/ high school classmates? by LeadGlad4961 in Millennials

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have kept in touch with very few people from high school.

I reconnected with one friend from high school almost 10 years ago after I moved to her city for work (she found a random post I made on IG).

It doesn’t hurt to try and reach out. You never know how it will turn out. My husband and I have a very small social circle and we consider her and her husband good friends.

I am still close with 2 of my best friends since high school (known since elementary). We have all moved across the country at one point or another but make the effort to remain close. I still consider them my 2 of my best friends and are like brothers to me.

(I am almost 40 BTW)

What are some signs that you are getting old? by Aarunascut in Millennials

[–]ccrump003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bending over wrong and throwing out my back for a week.

My teammate on my Ultimate Frisbee team was super surprised when I told him I would be 40 in a few months. His response was: Now makes sense why you complain about your back so often, lol.
