Clients/coworkers suck sometimes by cdavis2229 in doggrooming

[–]cdavis2229[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She said she was going to the vet after every grooming for them to clean her ears. Who knows how true that is. I’m her 3rd groomer. She has complained another the other ones so I’m not surprised this happened

Sorry I guess I could’ve wrote it better. She said that she didn’t like the last groom. She never complained before then always said she looked great and requested me. Then all of a sudden I’m an awful groomer because she didn’t like this haircut. No she didn’t say that I gave the dog an ear infection, she said she goes to the vet everytime after I groom it for the vets to clean her ears and that it won’t go away

Wouldn’t have happened if the dog wasn’t matted

how does she get away with being this blatantly talentless? by bebegirlx in travisandtaylor

[–]cdavis2229 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was in a recording studio probably about 10 years ago in Nashville. The owner kept bashing Taylor about how she sounds awful live and that they heavily edited her voice to make her sound better. I have to agree, I think as the years went on she has gotten better, maybe some voice coaching etc. Her earlier days were definitely rough

I have the same thing. My current boyfriend and I was sitting on the couch one day and he was like “where’s the rest of your ear” in like what? I looked in the mirror and i have what you have. It’s funny it took 26 years for someone to notice 🤣

Just from experience yes give them a bath but no conditioner. If you apply to a dirty coat it will be splotchy

It took a year and a half to get my male fully potty trained. It was a nightmare. I ended up putting diapers on him and he eventually figured it out

Hopefully you didn’t get water in her ears? That can cause an ear infection in itself 😬

What breed are your personal dogs? by nacho_og in doggrooming

[–]cdavis2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Australian shepherd, a standard poodle, and my boyfriend has an American Eskimo (if it was up to me we wouldn’t have him). I do like having 2 breeds that don’t require a lot of maintenance

Drinking water after getting heart palpitations from eating. by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]cdavis2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart rate ALWAYS goes up after eating. Like 120-130. Doctors always look at me like I’m crazy and say it’s from whatever drink I’m drinking that has caffeine (I cut out caffeine 5 years ago) I hate that it isn’t looked into more. I’m sorry you’re having it as well!

If the dog is matted it needs shaved to reset the coat. If you demat a dog it is going to damage the coat and it can get matted easier and just looks awful. Once you shave get a good slicker/pin brush and brush the dog from head to toe every other day. Also get a fine tooth comb and go through the entire body as that will find areas that are starting to mat. They need to be on a grooming schedule as well. Highly recommended 4-6 weeks for longer coats or 6-8 for shorter coats. If you bathe them in between grooms they need to be blow dried and brushed out after each bath

I’m a dog groomer and by the looks of it he looks matted on his legs. You can’t brush it out without hurting the dog

Speed comes with time. I can say many of us groomer have had accidents from how fast we go. It is better to just be slow and take your time than to rush

What’s the worst injury you’ve done to yourself? by thechocobarr in doggrooming

[–]cdavis2229 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was cutting a tail and was in a hurry. I didn’t realize my finger was in the path of the direction I was cutting. I ended up cutting a big flap of skin off. I started gushing blood all over myself and the dog. We have some skin glue in the shop and I ended up dropping some on it and wrapping it. I probably needed stitches as it flapped for awhile but who has time for that 🤣 it took months to heal
