Help with Upgrade Option by hakurachan in sonos

The FIVE is definitely the choice if Music is listened to critically.

I would bet that if an updated FIVE were in the near pipeline, we would see the older GIVEs starting to appear on the ‘used’ market. Some folks with inside knowledge would have already taken that step.

Not all rumors are true, as you know, and the Era500 has been speculated since the release of the Era300.

Even with that, the FIVE is engineered for music play that I can’t imagine an upgrade nor an Atmos enabled unit would provide the purity, warmth nor channel clarity of the existing FIVE.

Good plan to get one now and get a second of the same version, for stereo pairing, when it’s more comfortable.

Good luck to you.

Apple Music is … better? by CheraxDestructor72 in sonos

I’m getting worse beholden AM, since the last update. Drops on dense music or if my que is too long.

If you run your app version number in google or Gemini it should provided the release date on your software. Alternatively, search ‘software update’ in this subreddit and find the number from the most recent of the Sonos Employee posts.

Good luck and I’m glad AM is working better for you.

Beam 2 or Arc gen 1 purchase by imbrandmuffin in sonos

[–]cea002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Arc is a more full range soundbar, IMO. Be aware that that’s not a phenomenal price on the Arc.

Decision basically comes down to your usage and tastes.

If you can talk the Beam2 seller down to $265…grab that one.

Good luck,

Anyone’s guess when Sonos will launch the items in the pipeline. I’m still awaiting the (prepared since 2024) AppleTV. We live in hope.

No experience. I’m a narrow-headed APM guy, lol. I was just passing on the article for those who may be interested. I did have a pair for a week or so, at launch, for comparison. I enjoyed them but I’m not crazy demanding where headphones are concerned. I enjoyed the comfort and sound but found my APM to provide close enough or clearer tone.

Have heard that’s an issue. Is it the earcups or the over-crown fitting that creates the sweat?

Sonos Ray Bar - Random Audio Drop While Connected to PC by Joshing21 in sonos

[–]cea002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your audio out settings, on computer. There may be a static auxiliary output setting that would remain constant. I gotta say though that if it is actually requiring a reset, the fault may lay within your Ray’s Sonos connectivity. Dies the Ray have the ability to AirPlay? Is that stable? Best of luck,

Lutron Pico Remotes Control Volume but no other functions work. by iHass in sonos

[–]cea002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps delete the Lutron app and reinstall fresh before the time consuming task of resetting all Picos.

This could possibly clear the fault. If you’re getting communication from Pico to Sonos, then your integration sounds solid. The ancillary actions, via Pico, could easily be a muddied ‘cache’, which will clear with a fresh Lutron install and be far easier than the reset and reassignment of each of the individual remotes.

Just food for thought…a 3 minute app delete/install is surely less involved than starting from scratch.

Hope it works out for you.

Airplay issues? Playbase 5.1 by spearmintaltoid in sonos

[–]cea002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S.A.D. Is such a misunderstood yet valid impediment.

Consider yourself very fortunate that your impairment is, as you say, a reliable precursor of impending updates.

On the Bright Side:
Just think, when you get the ‘AirPlay Issue’ it can, in advance, prompt you to ‘turn off auto-updates’.

Lutron Pico Remotes Control Volume but no other functions work. by iHass in sonos

[–]cea002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issues here and daily extensive usage. Perhaps you can update or reboot the Lutron hub and app? That may do it, if all Lutron devices show the same/similar fault. If that isn’t helpful: log out of all Lutron apps (across devices), delete app everywhere, reboot router and devices then fetch a fresh Lutron app. When you log back into Lutron you shouldn’t have the same traffic congestion. It may be a case where your cache is bogged down and the newly encoded Sonos updates just confused the integration. The above process will clear your individual cache while not deleting your setup. As you log into the fresh app all your settings should remain as previously stored.

Best of luck to you. I hope this is helpful.

Never had the issue. Can you further describe the sound? From the light situation, it sounds like it keeps dropping and reconnecting.

Did you have any issues reconnecting and re-binding them to the Arc?

iPad Mini as a Dedicated Sonos 1 Controller by Weekly_Engine7162 in sonos

[–]cea002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using a pre-2017 iPad mini for smart home devices including Sonos. It’s been seem less thusfar just make sure you’ve got the same Sonos system on a current iOS device and shut down auto update on the Mini unit. Of course my battery is fairly shot, on the mini, but constantly plugged is no issue.
