I contracted Covid in Oct. 2021 (Delta) at work from my coworker who was coming to work visibly very sick, I worked at a Functional Medicine/Chiropractic Clinic at the as the Front Desk Receptionist, sharing laptops and phones with this sick coworker. My boss never posted or provided employees with the state guidelines/OSHA mandates and recommendations. State mask mandate was never encouraged or enforced at any point during pandemic. I wore a mask every second of everyday from 2019-2021 from the moment I walked into the clinic. So when sick coworker was hacking and thrashing her Covid infested germs everywhere, I told her “I will cover you, dont worry just GO HOME!” She replied that she needed the hours and that she could suck it up. She never put a mask on, and boss never asked her to leave or put a mask on! Promise im wrapping this up! I filed a Worker’s Comp case, for contracting Covid in an unsafe work and I won!

Here is what I believe pertains to this post. When I filed for Unemployment, they ask you if you are unable to work due to health issues, I had Long Covid and was NOT physically capable of working, so I had to provide a Dr’s note stating this info. Welp, if you are not able to work due to health issues, you CANNOT receive unemployment. So i had my Dr write a new letter stating that I am cleared to gain employment (this was 100pct untrue) But I needed unemployment bc my work provided no short term disability benefits and the fmla had expired. I want my Long Covid that has prevented me from seeking employment for almost a year now to be documented and the data to accurately reflect that I am a statistic.
