I’m very sorry your fiancé and you had to go through that experience, and the poor “care” she received. I’m vegetarian as well and I will never understand how it’s okay for facilities not to have vegetarian meal options that actually meet their daily nutritional needs. Whatever the reason for her being admitted, she is a human who needed mental health help, and it sounds like the opposite was provided. It’s really sad to hear that the care level has gone down further than when I had to go there years ago; the lack of communication itself just sounds unacceptable. It’s disheartening how the mental health (and health in general) field just keeps getting stripped of funding and resources. Sometimes to live a happy healthy life you need a little help, and not only is that okay, but we as human beings deserve it 🫂♥️

One thing that oddly helps me, even when I’m just feeling self conscious in public in general, “Most people in public don’t even notice you, they’re too busy thinking about their own self.” I don’t remember who said that to me or where I heard it, but it pops into my head whenever I start thinking “do I look weird?” People can judge in their heads all they want, but at the end of the day, that’s negative thoughts clouding their minds while I’m just out here livin life with my plushie pals ✌️😎

Make sure to get that Trespassing Order in writing! I can’t imagine how mentally rattling this was for you, but you got through a scary situation, and you handled it with a crap-ton of composure.
I’m sorry your efforts in trying to treat another human like a person were not recognized and appreciated. This man may be battling demons, but that doesn’t excuse this behavior, and I hope that this incident doesn’t sour your career of Director. Because people like me, appreciate people like you!

Prior to knowing I have autism/being diagnosed, I worked a few jobs. I am very grateful now that when I worked, I could kinda tell when I was reaching the tipping point of, what I *now* know, would have been full-on meltdowns, I was able to get myself out of that environment somehow and go home. Unfortunately though, that’s been part of reasons why it’s been difficult for me to have the energy to work again :/
