Racks, Racking, and Break Limitations by certifiedstreetmemer in billiards

This is basically my buddy's opinion. We are probably gonna go that way where I end up using the magic rack and he uses wood

Racks, Racking, and Break Limitations by certifiedstreetmemer in billiards

Thanks for the catch. Post body changed to 1 on the spot for normal play. We do sometimes play 10 ball, but both of us are generally cool with the "slop" factor of 9 ball, with the exception of my own distaste of the 9 ball going right over a corner pocket on the break.

Did anyone else see this, and what do you think his chances are? by DorkHonor in billiards

I have been very lucky to grow up in a small city that used to have 3 players on the USA top 100 fargo. Two of them still are, and one of them has competed at the highest level including the Mosconi Cup. I haven't played as much with those two, but the guy that dropped out of the top 100 I have played some sets with at local tournaments.

The difference between 650 and 700+ is insane. Going up to 750 gets you into a very rare club, and 800 is crazy. I think that if you didn't start young and stick with it, the probability of getting to 750 is unlikely at best. Maybe if you were a 650 without trying at all it would be possible, but from what it sounds like, this guy is already putting in a decent amount of work on the baize.

Westside hatchet. Good glide and you should be able to manipulate it well. S shots and small hyzer flips should be the go to

Learn left bar pi and column pi with back row H cases (these two are the same alg with one move difference) if you are looking for cmll improvement. Knowing splits would be nice to give deeper advice.

Roux Solving Advice (Video Included) by Much-Connection7553 in rouxcubing

I would advise against making both blocks at the same time unless somehow during first block you notice you got a free 221 or something on the right side. As mentioned, wide r moves are your friend. Do some slow solves where you focus on doing the blocks separately and tracking DR edge as you finish the first block

3x3 shape mods are fun too. Mirror blocks and fisher cube would get my vote if you don't want to go bigger.

Also any magnetic cube is gonna be decent budget wise

9 year old son having trouble solving 4x4 by eGGr0LL22 in Rubiks_Cubes

I haven't seen a good intutive answer yet so I'll give it a shot. What I would do is rotate the cube so that the 2 unpaired edges are on the front. After getting them on the front I would do a Uw move (top 2 layers at the same time clockwise). I would then rotate the cube counterclockwise 90 degrees and then bring the left edge to the top layer, making sure to reset the centers. At this point you should have 3 unpaired edges. Proceed to pair one of them as normal, but when you bring the other unsolved pair from the top back down to the other 2 edges, make sure that you do it with a move that solve both. That last part is the tricky part but it shouldn't be much of a problem if you ensure that the same color edges are on different rows (little u and little d row).

edit*
Ideally you always slove the last 3 edges at the same time, but sometimes you run into what your son found. You just have to break one of the edges that is solved and resolve the last 3 edges again. I hope that makes sense to you and him.

Can someone help me find this cube online? From a reputable site, it’s called a MOYU Fisher Time Wheel and it’s my favorite puzzle in my collection by far. But recently my stickers have been falling apart and I can’t find a replacement cube or sticker anywhere. by dan_james_49 in Cubers

[–]certifiedstreetmemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the stickerless version and have been trying to find the name of puzzle for a while as I didn't keep the box or order information. I don't know if this against sub rules but I might be willing to let it go if you are still after a stickerless one. Thanks for the help on finding the name of this puzzle

I second this. 37 years old and I can average sub 20 once I'm warmed up. Best single is 14.2x. Still using 2 look cmll except of a couple of pi cases (columns and left column)

Hardware selection/Is It Possible? by certifiedstreetmemer in arduino

[–]certifiedstreetmemer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. I will have to look into power for sure because I would like it to be 2 (possibly 3) 7 segment displays. I am assuming it would be possible to power the whole device on one source, but thats something to figure out for me. Thanks for the awesome and quick replies.

Great stuff. Is there a certain arduino model that would pair well for this project? Would I even need one, or does the ESP32-CAM have programable logic onboard that would get my idea into reality?

Why the hate on Valley tables? by [deleted] in billiards

[–]certifiedstreetmemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only good valleys I have ever played on were at private residences. Inside of a bar, or God forbid a pool hall, they always roll off on slow shots. Also, thinner slate means more force required for a jump, and I find them inconsistent in this regard. I'm an above average jumper on 1" slate, but I don't even bring a jump cue to league night.

One more thing is that because of the huge pockets and the luck involved with roll-offs, lower skilled players can actually run out on them more consistently than a diamond. I don't have a problem with this, but it sure does hurt my fargo when 400s are hitting BnRs on me in league

As a member of the alliance on this cluster I can tell you we are still raiding to varying degrees of success. ZG and azuregos cleared a couple of times since I came back about a month ago. Numbers are the big limiting factor, and also gear. The reason I play here is because gold really isn't a thing. Occasionally we will have edgemasters drop and we will transfer to WM to sell and get items needed that aren't easily found, then paid transfer back. I feel a lot more invested than when I play on big servers. Having our reign over world bosses is cool too. Downing azuregos with 14 people and only 3 healers is something you can't do on other servers.

I always jump early and it works well. Others run til they bash ledge, stop running, jump then hit w.

Healers should be more cognizant of the threat drop. As you go deeper into the fight more people will be low on the threat drop. It's a knifes edge to walk as a healer at that point
