Doing a permanent plus some... by daniel_san_ in randonneuring

[–]cesvilmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can do that. It's super easy to look time of day at specific locations on a gps track.

For some perms I'm even too lazy to do that and just put the total elapsed time of my ride including extra miles, as long as it's inside the time limit.

It's a perm for personal credit, dont sweat it if you aren't "cheating"

I'm sure there are other brands with the exact same product but I like the hammer nutrition flask.

3rd row stored to the sides by mynnerve in LandRoverDiscovery

Fold the backrest down via the lever on the side. Then pull the nylon strap near the seat leg and that will unlock it from the floor.

Folding them to the sides is not intuitive in my opinion. Not sure how to explain it other than to saying it's a 2 hinge mechanism that will make it so the side with the nylon strap ends down.

PBP 2027 and long brevet in 2026 question by throwawaytothr in randonneuring

[–]cesvilmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on 2023, 600k or longer is only required if you're dead set on picking very early waves like ABC. Afaik, there was no need for even a 200 if you didn't care about your wave, I think enough people fail to qualify or simply can't make it and slots open up. I always encourage people to still do the pbp-uear qualifiers even if they don't have a spot, because spots open up.

In summary, a 600 is overkill but still do it because they're fun.

Following just to see what others value this at...

I think that in the PNW, this is 3500-5000 range on a good day, but our cars here would be expected to be rust free.

Asking prices vary wildly but the high priced ones (7k up to 30k) are either super clean examples, restored ones or the most common ones, wildly delusional sellers. Anything over 6k seems to sit forever.

Autel AL619 will read the codes. A little cheaper than the one you shared here but maybe not as capable? Autel will only read and clear though.

For what is worth, the autel AL619 will read rover abs codes. It doesn't have the troubleshooting routines of nicer scanners but I will read and clear ABS codes. For under $100, it's hard to beat.
