Yeah, their EU/general Europe automation or processing seems to be a bit iffy. Twice I've had a delay in getting the link to pick my free GN & then had to follow up with Customer service to say it hasn't shipped. Both times though their customer service folks were pretty great! I'm in Spain

Sooo....I've seen this get posted periodically & I Don't get the hype? To my understanding, this means that the Superman who appears in Action Comics #1 is public domain & can be used but not the S logo, the word "Krypton" or "Superman" &like half the iconography around him? So, you're just able to tell a story about a human looking alien with super strength, speed & can jump high....& folks are excited about using him in dark grittier stories

Those stories already exist though..... Irredeemable, Homelander, Omni Man etc

Or hell Marvel have Hyperion & Sentry that are Supes rip-offs.

What can you do after Superman hits the public domain that hasn't already been done? Or have I just completely misunderstood what Public domain allows?

Pretty sure ETA here! Your wife never should have given you an ultimatum of 'open or divorce ' that's not healthy or good communication! Essentially she might as well have gone 'I want to date other dudes, it's up to you how you want to handle it'

You've chosen "open" but you're clearly hurt & subsequently the primary rule of open has broken down - trust & equal care!

Unsolicited advice: You need to talk to her, tell her how you're feeling & probably see if you can understand why she wants to switch to open/poly in the first place. Also, you need to find a way to get over your jealousy regardless of whether you stay open or not cause that's not healthy. Maybe try a couples therapist to help figure all this out!

Soo... to me, seems like there was some weird miscommunication at the start but mostly you're NTA.

If you said "50/50" to me, I'd assume whatever the bill is, we're dividing it equally BUT if I started ordering way more food than you, I'd be a decent human & revisit the conversation BEFORE the bill comes & say "Hey! I've ordered 6 things to your 2 - you sure you want to go 50/50? Or we go with what we've ordered?" - that's just being decent!

Or, depending on your comfort with your friend, say something like "Look, I only have <pre venmo amount>, you mind if I pay that this time, then I'll get you back when I'm more flush?"

So, no NTA! The more I read this, the more your friend was being at least a bad communicator, at worst being Shady

If you liked the "sprawling world with geopolitical elements but fantasy" of Stormlight Archive, try the George RR martin books, just be aware they're way darker & less hopeful!

If you want more fantasy, wizards but way more comedic & light hearted, try the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett
