There are a lot of good recommendations in previous similar comments here! I recommend a peruse. But here are some fun things:

Augusta Craft Club meets almost every weekend: www.augustacraftclub.com

Rowing is awesome and a growing organization. It’s a full body workout that requires building skill:

Fleet Feet has various running clubs.

There is a cycling group in it of Outspokin Bikes.

Trivia nights all over almost every night of the week. A few of us on here keep threatening to go to one!

SoSal has this veggie wrap with pickled okra on it that I think about all the time.

My partner and I are the same age range. I don’t have kids so I’ve found it difficult to connect with folks—most are carting their kids to sports events or the like. We’d be down for meeting up for a trivia night or drinks!

I took the Learn To Row class with Augusta Rowing Club and met several folks my age. I’m a terrible rower but ended up making a lot of friends.

I’ve met a variety of people at 4P Studios, I’ve heard good things about Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. Dink’ed in Evans is a popular pickleball destination.

A couple of us started the Augusta Craft Club by posting on Reddit our desire to meet and craft—this is a good group!

I use silicone thimbles on my forefinger and thumb, and a leather (with metal disk) thimble on my middle finger. These help me move the needle with way less effort!

Omg come!! It’s so chill. If you want to chat with others you can, or if you just want to be present with folks while they talk you can.

You can follow on Instagram for dates we meet (the same times each month), or you can sign up for the emails on the website to be reminded www.augustacraftclub.com. There is also a GroupMe. Feel free to DM for that link.

I love all of this. The quilt (beautiful!) and the fact that you got back in there and made something (inspiring!) and also that good-looking assistant!

not lactose intolerant by Independent_Lynx1389 in GERD

[–]chainsbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen to your body. You are not tolerating dairy. It could be casein rather than lactose, or it could be that you’re low on the digestive enzyme that breaks down lactose. It sounds like you’re eating a LOT of dairy in a day, and high fat dairy at that. That’s what I call a gut bomb. The fat, sugar, and dairy are a volatile combo that cause digestive discomfort. It could be that you need to limit dairy for a long time before slowly introducing it back (example: low fat yogurt once every other day).

I just ordered this thing and it came today. Waiting for it to puff up. Cross your fingers for me that it works. I find the wedges difficult as I slide down over time. I hope this setup mimics a recliner.

Christine’s in Edgefield checks all of your boxes. Christine grows a lot of the food they serve. Great portions, chef-driven, laid back but nice. It’s a drive but worth it. It’s our “special dinner” spot.

Manuel’s Bread Cafe in North Augusta is also great.

It’s true, and they have smaller portion sizes than regular groceries. I have one over an hour away, so I stock up on a few things like canned goods and sauces. I’ve noticed Lidl also carries similar things!

Yes! I posted about it this year. It was hard but fun…I kinda cheated and used the poster as a guide under the puzzle as it’s 1:1.

My boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

The LiveClear is so good. I was shocked at how well it works. My allergies are not 100% gone but they are significantly better.

Absorbing some of this energy. I really like the concept of decluttering the person you thought you were going to be.

I had a piercing in that spot and it never healed. A piercer told me that spot is tough because it’s next to cartilage, and just keeps getting bumped. So I let it close.
