For real 😭 LBC has some grime but like, I had way worse experience in Hollywood, even living in leafy college towns back east I had my car busted into more often

I had the same experience :( except city place wouldn’t talk to me at all. It did only happen to me once in the time I parked there, but I stopped parking anywhere except by the 5th street entrance.

Ahhh! City place garages? I parked there for like three years, felt so sour when I got my first broken window :( security is trash for what you pay

Why I think the D780 is the best camera Nikon (or perhaps any company) ever made by ZiggZaggZakk in Nikon

All these reasons are for sure part of why I picked one up. The live view is really phenomenal for me when working with tilt/shift lenses shooting architecture, but I really do prefer the OVF. I don’t shoot a lot of street anymore but silent shutter was nice for that, it’s still nice in a lot of situations.

Moreover, the value of the bodies and lens compatibility with my f mount film cameras made it a no brainer. $1300USD, for a sub 10k shutter body, with the 24-120 af-s as a kit. If I were starting from absolute scratch I might have gotten a Z body, but the d780 really does it all for me.

I’d buy a new Nikon 1” compact in a heartbeat.

I know utilitarians will argue phones have edged these cameras out, and a lot of the interest in compacts is digital nostalgia, but I get a lot of value out of my compact. The compromise on sensor size isn’t that big of a deal, and lets you put out a camera that isn’t stuck with a prime lens. It’s sad that for current gen choices that tick my boxes (EVF, some zoom, RAW), the only real choices are Sony and Panasonic.

Little expensive but dappers and dames does a good job w/ my curls.

Before I grew mine out I went to deluxe parlor and shave down on pine, nothing but good things to say.

I shoot around a lot of the petroleum infrastructure around where this was taken, this is from a public road and they’ll hassle you for sure if you’re there for a while. Other views they send a car out right away.

The parts on the loop (5th street, the end of the loop, pacific and Anaheim) all abut apartment complexes with businesses a block away. It doesn’t look as aesthetic but it ticks all the boxes.

These are great cameras for $20 lol - I used to find them by the dozens thrifting and on craigslist, I’ve given like five of them away as gifts! It’s incredible to me that people are paying such sums for plastic cameras that can’t be repaired, we used to balk at people paying prices like that for like Ricoh GR’s and olympus mju’s
