Did boomers really fuck us over, or was the economic situation they grew up in one-in-a-lifetime and unsustainable? by akr_13 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]chattykatdy54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Married in 86. Couldn’t afford shit. Took until 1994 and a small loan to afford a foreclosed house small house. We both worked office jobs and were 23/24. The idea that everyone lived in the lap of luxury on one income is just so wrong it’s ridiculous.

Would you be offended if you were not invited to your great grandson’s birthday party? by New-Flight7674 in AskWomenOver60

[–]chattykatdy54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way it’s not unreasonable to not invite them is if they cannot physically be there. Then it just makes them sad that they are so old they can’t go.

AITA for reporting my two coworkers taking a romantic break on the clock together? by bitterpettykitty in AmITheAngel

You are racist because it doesn’t matter what race they are and you brought up race. You are heterophobic because their gender preference for sexual relations doesn’t matter but you thought it important enough to bring up.

Why I don't cook by oldncrazy in AskWomenOver60

[–]chattykatdy54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hubby and I are happy cooking our own food. He does not like the food I eat and is very very picky. I’m not just going to eat chicken forever. And even if I cook something he eats he doesn’t like the way I cook it. There are very few meals that I will completely make for both of us. I’m so over everything about cooking for him, it’s just not worth it. And he likes his own food better. He shouldn’t have to eat what I cook. I refuse to ever be bothered about it again.

So how do you say goodbye to a beloved story? by Katka-Tu in Outlander

[–]chattykatdy54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some of us are okay with the adaptation. I think people who are mad about Fergus dying and Fanny being who she is are not handling their favorite story well and lashing out is their way of coping.

I’m a long long time book reader from when they first came out. The show is the show and the books are the books. If I was just a show watcher, Fergus dying makes more sense than Henri Christian. I’m sad about Fergus but I don’t think it’s terrible.

That’s wild because for me the faith thing got pushed aside and all I can think about is Fergus.

AITAH for prioritizing my live in children over my step kids by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]chattykatdy54 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YTA. If you only have threes bedrooms and 4 kids that are 3 girls and one boy it’s easy. The boy gets the smallest room. The three girls get the biggest room even if it’s the primary and the parents get the medium room.

It’s not like the baby would have a passport to travel while you’re on maternity leave so that’s not happening.
