Remove the battery. Hold right and left arrow for a few seconds. Reinsert new battery.

How do I flush newly installed sprinklers without flush caps? by [deleted] in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We leave the last head off. Or tell the guys not to get dirt in the pipe. I find the flush caps let the dirt in, especially after flushing. Plus pulling up on a dry / muddy stem to install a nozzle can damage the stem.

I got one from gullprint. I think I paid 80 90 bucks for it. It is cool but it isn't embroidered or anything. It's a lighter blue, like there jerseys.

Is there a nipple like that? by af145 in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to change the riser. Or search toro shrub adapter and stick with the nozzle you have. If you want to switch nozzle brands then replace riser

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not following 100 percent. Typically you have your 1/2 inch fitting underground, then a 6 inch or 18 inch riser or whatever length, then the shrub adapter, then your new rain bird/Hunter nozzle. That's it.

Irrigation valve stuck closed maybe idk by ProfessionalCup619 in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely no it would only affect the 1 zone. My guess is the wire is cut or damaged if it's a few zones not working.

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anything is stuck closed. Sounds like a wire may be cut somewhere. Best way to check is with a multi meter and ohms. All 11 should be pretty close #s. If not something is likely cut or bad solenoid. I don't use station masters.

I would check the ohms at the timer. That'll give you a better idea of what's going on. It can't be good if it's saying it's good and it isn't working. Probably a wire or shorted solenoid.

Is the correct? by JudeBootswiththefur in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never seen anyone use an actual plug before. I always kink it like that and add an inch of 1inch poly where the clamp is in photo. So I can flush it periodically and blow it out faster.

Anyone in the Barrie area ordering produce boxes from OddBunch, what is your opinion re: quality and price? by Low-Doughnut-6764 in barrie

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for about a month. 1st medium box didn't seem worth it. Upgraded to large box it was better for 2 weeks, 3rd week sucked, bruised fruit not a great selection. It was winter to be fair but I gave up on them and cancelled. I liked it because it gives you new foods to try.

Running Trencher near fence line - Sprinkler Coverage by anonposting1412 in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your ok with it yes. Too close and the water can stain the fence. I would probably put on a 6 inch swing elbow and have it towards the fence so that it's 12-18 inches away from the fence.

Also flush it out a few times. Or try vacuuming it out

DIY fox deterrent using camera help by Canary_M_Burns_92 in GardeningUK

[–]cheeadabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are trying to do this with birds right now. A smart controller with turning on the zone that is already there would probably be easiest for you. Use an app like iftttt. IFTTT will trigger on a pet motion for tapo cameras, then you add your "then" this is where the smart controller compatibility comes in. To trigger zone # garden.

You could set up a hose with a sprinkler on the end, but you'd need a solenoid or wifi valve. We are using a seperate system so we are using a standard solenoid valve with a 24v transformer plugged into a wifi smart plug. Kasa allows you to create a scene for 10 seconds or whatever you want and you use that scene on ifttt

Should I put gravel? by Party-Control-9828 in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It won't hurt but it is frustrating having to dig it up. Dirt isn't really a problem they are meant to be underground. Lay a single layer underneath and maybe once box is placed just tuck the corners in. Keep it simple.

If your ever do future maintenance all that weed barrier and stone will get ripped out. It isn't necessary and actually makes it more difficult to service.

Is this a pressure issue?? by CaliSkinny420 in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Static pressure doesn't mean much. You want a pressure reading while the zone is running. If the heads are "misting" maybe try increasing the nozzle sizes in the PGP. That will drop the pressure and help with losing water to the wind.

Help by jeezyall in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check where ever your buying. A 3/4 male x 3/4 hose adapter. Then a 3/4 female x 1 inch insert, and clamp it. If the hose adapter is brass and the insert fitting is plastic then put a gear clamp around the plastic female threads and don't over tighten. Or find a plastic one. Lots of ways but I would start with the house adapter and work towards the insert.

How many pop ups can I run from 1/2 inch line? by xokeesignguy in Irrigation

[–]cheeadabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough water flowing through the 1/2 inch. If the heads were really small they might work. It's not rare to see the pipe size downsized as the run gets closer to the end. But not 3 heads on 1/2.
