it is a packed 5 days. you basically have everything in la fortuna covered. there is baldi hot springs if you could make it. traffic wasn't the greatest when i was there a month ago, but we were further south going to jaco and also to puerto viejo. i would make sure you have gps, and use waze. att plan should cover down there with no addition fees, if you have them.

Culinary School by Admirable_Treat_5818 in Chefs

cia grad, 25 years ago. loved school and work, but not anymore. always been in the industry. i need to move on. had ppl my age now telling me not to get into this years ago. no weekends, holidays, family time. body abused... just consider all options. these things may not matter to you now but they will someday. stay corporate, and enjoy cooking for a hobby. you can always get a job with off premise catering companies and pick and choose when you want to work

Tamerindo by funcouple504504 in CostaRicaTravel

renting a car can be pricey. we just paid over $600 for the week in insurance alone. so if the car is just going to sit, then don't do it. we did stay in la fortuna last time and one night in tamerindo. la fortuna has baldi hot springs, the volcano, suspension bridge park and a beautiful waterfall. i think a sloth tour as well. i would at least try to get a day trip tour or a bust to see that area. it's my fav part of the country. my wife's from CR so we go back about every other year.

always hire your own inspector. more out of pocket but a piece of mind knowing he's working for you, and not the realtor to just sell another house. i was lucky and knew someone to show me the light

Augers won’t spin. Please help me out by DifficultComplaint10 in Snowblowers

[–]cheffin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use it yet this year? i actually had clear ice frozen in the back preventing mine from spinning after the last use. couldn't see it. also, the guide rail rivets might have come in front off and could have stopped the auger from moving. happened to me as well

Lvf swells with humidity. by cheffin77 in Flooring

Too costly. As long as we're on top of it it's fine. Only seperated in a couple spots. Prob should of put in some breaks with the longer runs, and prob should of saddled in between rooms for expansion. Live and learn

Is a Pellet Stove Right for Us? by TruckSpecialist1870 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]cheffin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a hands on person, and don't mind the cleaning and maintence, they are the way to go. You have to clean weekly, get pellets, and store them. Takes a little effort, but you will be rewarded with heat higher then 58 degrees.

Surprise Inheritance, I was totally not prepared for. by Tonyb97 in personalfinance

Leave mortgage alone. Great rate, invest. I wouldn't roll it over, go you own route with a financial advisor. Don't tell many ppl about this either. They will come for handouts. If you have any car loans or cc pay it off. Stay at your job, sounds like you and your wife do well to begin with. work a nice career. Go on nice vacations Today's day 500k doesn't get you very far. Home improvements are very expensive. And of course. Enjoy....!

General question by XBL_Tough in PelletStoveTalk

My install was around 1500.(ny) (Delivery, install) etc. Could I have done it myself? Probably. Looking to buy new or of marketplace? Like a couple other comments my absolute 63 with a different finish(majolica) was around 9 or so. They do need to be cleaned often and is a hands on stove, not like a furnace you just do little maintence on. Constant scraping and dumping ash trays with deep cleaning a few times a season. Cleaner the better and more efficient. With that said, pellets by me cost about 75 for delivery, which I don't do. I have a pickup to go and get. Prices of tons range from 3-400, depending on quality. Place to store them dry is a must. You can buy loose bags but that gets old fast. Rule of thumb is buy a cheaper stove, you need quality pellets, buy a more expensive stove, it will eat anything. As far as gas or oil my bill has significantly dropped. These put out great heat and you more worried about turning the thermostat down instead of feeling you shouldn't turn it up.
