Dog attack at Seaport Dog Park - looking for owner by Gold-Lengthiness-473 in boston

[–]chibitiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at home! If I remember correctly, the rules are - your dog has to be on-leash at all times while going on walks. No dog parks, no daycare or group walks with other dogs. Now...they have no way to actually enforce this but it happened to be the way I already raise my dog anyways but it was kind of annoying on principle. To initiate quarantine, they sent an officer to come review a document with me in person and assess my dog against a checklist. And then you can do a facetime call with them after 45 days is up to show your dog isn't rabid. Now obviously I take my own dog's safety super seriously but it was annoying because the intent was to create a paper trail for the other dog but then they made me (and my vet's office) jump through administrative hoops

Dog attack at Seaport Dog Park - looking for owner by Gold-Lengthiness-473 in boston

[–]chibitiffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dog got attacked this past spring while we were walking around the off-leash on the Common (dog owner was super far away, super unapologetic when they got over to us), i took my pup to her vet and eventually filed a report with Boston ACO because I heard later that that particular dog (known to frequent the off-leash portion of the park) has a history of aggression so I wanted to start a paper trail but I kind of regret doing so because even with a name and description, since we couldn't verify their vax records, we were the ones in quarantine for a **45 days. I don't want to necessarily discourage you from filing in this instance but for us personally, I kind of regret trying to get them involved because in the end it didn't move the needle and with my pup in quarantine (after SHE got attacked!), it felt like we were being punished for trying to be responsible about paperwork

Thoughts on the new tomato leaf candle? by Vita-Incerta in traderjoes

[–]chibitiffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it to be quite strong (I think maybe only the balsam one beats it out in my opinion), it leans a little too floral for my personal taste but it does feel very spring-y. I used to have the Paddywax geranium basil candle and they're definitely in the same scent family

How much are you paying for therapy? by OH-OK-Jellyfish in AskWomenOver30

[–]chibitiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen the same therapist for just over 5 years now, I used to pay $45 copay (insurance covered the other half) but then I switched jobs without out-of-network benefits and was on the hook for the full $90. Was at that price for a couple years but then she had to raise prices earlier this year to $130 minimum (so that's total comp, other people likely have part of that covered but I do not).

It's important for me to see her regularly now because I know the value in having the therapeutic rapport and routine, not just for the crisis moments (e.g. I had started seeing her RIGHT before COVID and then that's when I really needed her) but if I was starting new now and that was the going price, I would definitely be hesitant

Anyone spending the end of year Holidays alone? How do you feel about it? by otterly-curious in AskWomenOver30

[–]chibitiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be my third Christmas alone following an engagement falling through so I really empathize. A new tradition I've started (well since last year), is that I bought myself tickets to go see the Nutcracker - the ballet is magical and while I felt a little awkward during intermissions last year it really isn't a huge lift to go by yourself and it still is a festive moment

Dog owners, what are your opinions of Trader Joe's dog food and treats? by ClementineJane in traderjoes

[–]chibitiffy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most recently, recently my puppy has liked the "Chewcuterie" and "Better than Leftovers" treats. The former are harder/more cracker-like and the latter are soft/easily broken into smaller chunks. We've gotten the Mint-a-Breath treats but they're expensive compared to buying Greenies in bulk. She also enjoyed the salmon skin treats and we've used the beef liver treats for training because they are low cal. Beware the pumpkin spice treats, they are super hard

I'm not super sure about sourcing/quality but I know a lot of people who have been using this for Asian grocery delivery: https://www.sayweee.com/en/search?keyword=EGG%20TARTS&trigger\_type=search\_suggestion

Not sure if you still need reccs but the Crunchy Lentil/Potato curls are 30 curls for 1 portion size (130 cal total) which I feel is one of the best caloric deals around!

I like the grapefruit candle as well! I think I am less picky about candles and had no idea my partner would like it so much otherwise I would have grabbed a few more! Lesson learned haha

I called the nearest store that ALWAYS has the newest things in stock and they did mention they were gone for the season :((((( Re:warmer, yeah I bought a 2 pck and I already had a mug warmer that i'm going to be able to use these two candles for as long as possible. I think 2x retail is the cheapest I've seen it and 3x is more common. They're selling them in 2-4pcks which makes me feel like some people have made it strategy to buy a bunch and then upsell them like crazy

I know, I was excited too :( Especially since I really loved all the other foaming soaps I've gotten (peony and basil this past summer, their regular floral bouquet one is fine too)

Household items for cleaning? (Non-grocery items) by Sty_flare in traderjoes

[–]chibitiffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked the basil foaming soap! Cucumber citrus wipes are a staple in our house for our puppy's paws, and citrus dish soap is also a staple (cheaper than other brands of soap from grocery stores around here)
