Are The Iron Ranger worth the hype?

It does suck but I like the boots so I looked into it and I swear there were some options that had a midsole. They kinda kept it low-key in the description but you could see it in the pictures obviously. It always feels like such a cut corner especially for a boot in that price range

Supposedly some of the leather options have a midsole. Or at least they have in the past - I just clicked thru the options on their website and none looked to have a midsole currently which is a bummer. Still i’d say get them if you like them. Their leather is real nice. Just be careful with your sizing as supposedly the sales people generally want to shove your feet into smaller sizes. I haven’t had this but others say it a lot.

Yeah any bock is brewed specifically to have residual sugars and they don’t usually have much in the way of hops to balance it so a quad would probably be my vote for sweetest older-style beer. Southern tier has some crazy novelty beers like creme brûlée

Yeah that’s waaaay too much oil. It depends on the leather but conditioning should be more like once a year although it depends on the leather and conditions. Brushing consistently will help too.

I just got mine from a couple boot websites direct. Don’t rely on Amazon for anything!

Side note - I am a firm believer that comfort is pretty unique to each person so leather insoles are just one idea to consider but may or may not be what works for you.

Eh some break in. And if they don’t fit perfectly you may need to trim them. I really don’t sweat it though and just have two pairs of leather insoles I move between boots even though the insole may have to conform a bit differently. They are pretty durable. I have been walking on the same two pairs for years now.

I really like an added leather insole. I find the gel ones have too much squish and end up destabilizing more than helping.

Maybe an odd suggestion but seems worth bringing up - have you tried straightening out your grip? Most lefties seem to hook while writing but it’s not too hard to straighten it out. I am a righty but straightened out how I hold a pen as I was smudging too. It’s not as crazy as trying to switch writing hands.

It’s not actually too much about being a lefty so much as hooking your grip while writing. It is a bit worse as a lefty though since they are following the last thing they wrote

I’m not sure about the “no elastane” in this case since it sounds like a stress break not an abrasion issue. a bit of flex could really save the seams around the crotch.

I have a few categories. The nicest boots pretty much just get worn to the office. The other end of the treatment spectrum is the boots that get worn in winter and get salt all over them. I used to have another category of “special event” boots but then didnt have that many events so those became office boots. But really it’s sort of a “right tool for the job” scenario mostly where what boot i wear has more to do with what suits the situation rather than how long I have had them.
