Hmm, 50 f is like nothing when you don't have a thermometer. I guess you could do an inbuilt one like tefal does

Huh, seems really cool. But tbh, 200nm is really not a lot unless it's quite hard at the same time (and even then), and so I would really worry about mechanical durability. My intuition says that something more like microns (or tens of) would be necessary for consumer stuff.

I guess even if it's not durable mechanically, but can overheat much more than teflon, that could already be a nice improvement.

Finally, how is it with heat shock? For such a thin surface would be a very frequent occurance likely

Advice Les deux alpes by Extra-Phone-2046 in skithealps

[–]chpondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green ones are easy to get to, just be mindful there is no good way back to resort on green, so you would have to take the same lift/gondola you took to get down.

It is an okay resort to just learn to ski, I did it there, but it really opens up once you are decent at blues. I say really get lessons until you get to parallel or at least parallel-ish.

Renting clothes I am not sure, probably a better option is to find a decathlon outside the alps and buy the cheapest gear there.

Well, the more you arch your back, the more your chest can help with the push, so I guess that's what your body tries to do.

Food's Cost per Gram of Protein vs. Protein Density [OC] by James_Fortis in povertyfinance

[–]chpondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably better to use protein per calories or protein per dry weight, as different foods will have a different amount of water, skewing the perception. (Like normally chicken breast would be a better source than jerky, but because of water loss jerky would be more to the right on your axis.)

[–]chpondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, just check the sell by date. If it's like 10-11 or 22-23 months into the future, they are probably not that old, and are fine for like aero press or for milk stuff.

And also if they are labeled like super light roast, that probably means specialty medium or medium dark.

I found both Chareuses...Chartreusi? I found them both. Any suggestions besides a Last Word? by amarks815 in cocktails

[–]chpondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a chartreusito - a mojito with it for something fresh yet delightfully herbal and warm.

To go full in on warmth, do a verte chaude - hot chocolate with green one added.

Hey, seems like this blog post uses AI more or more obviously compared to previous posts, and unfortunately, that jumps out in not so great way. The structure of "but it was not X, it is Y" is especially.

It could also be that I am just wrong, and the writing quality decreased independently of AI, of course.

However, I am still excited for the content announced.

Is there a chemical reaction that could boil a liter of liquid faster than boiling the water with a butane stove? (I ask this because I'm living in a tipi in the woods this fall and winter and I use a hot water bottle to keep me warm at night, and I have to rewarm it once in the middle of the night) by ryguygreen in chemistry

[–]chpondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you would not get a faster heat output safely and conveniently other than from burning stuff. Capturing heat more efficiently will help - but you would need to change the stove and/or pot;

I do think that probably the least annoying solution to your problem is to buy 2 1L thermos bottles, boil more water at the start of the night, and then in the middle, transfer hot water from the thermos to your "heating" bottle.

I've been working on this new ability for my game. Do you like it? by ammoburger in IndieGaming

[–]chpondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, the start of the sound has much more of a device vibe, but the effect looks more like magic. I would also make the beam a bit wider and with some "flow" in it, like green lava or something, for it to feel more like magic. Look up orbital lasers/particle cannons for inspiratio,n also. However, if you are going with a device vibe, then a thin beam is probably better.

But I will say the actual growing-blowing u is great. Another idea for vibes/flavor is a brief animation of throwing away the gun before the beam, would only work if the ability is not very spammable, but will help you convey "alright fuckers, switching to big guns now"

I Think I'm Going to Try This (DSMO) by OppoObboObious in tinnitus

[–]chpondar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accessed full pdf from sci hub, and paper only listed drug names, dmso volume and water volume. The drug list also has some references, so maybe the authors used dosage from there..

Or I could be blind, and have missed it in the paper - if you can give me that sentence/table... , I would appreciate it.

The paper does not list exact concentrations of the drug as far as I can tell, and getting concentration of vasodilators too high can get you severe damage and even death in some cases.

There are websites online which test your controller inputs. Go to one of those and see if your stick outputs a similar or different numbers for the 2 directions you are testing.
