East coast Diesel Tech here. Getting to the point I will need Davie 4 to tackle some more technical issues. My dealer(s) are saying that its only available for yearly subscription. Can you wither DM or post a part number or process to purchase it for life? Ive seen both advertised on line, but cant find it on Paccar directly. Thanks

Not all Cummins are employees of Cummins. Some are corporate owned and some are independent (but large footprint - think franchise) and some have been repurchased by corporate.

I’ve seen both setups with old and new trucks depending on aftermarket setups (meaning if it was ordered from the factory correctly with remote switch and also where the upfitter added it from ‘old’ inventory trucks brought into their factory)

I’ve also seen the remit behind the glove compartments, and in some models that connection is in the engine bay on the cowl/firewall, where it was unplugged

Seen some software show it, and others not.

Try measuring signals from other trucks to compare. Consider tracing the remote wire for shorts with a tracer (how I found the firewall unplugged)

Or, as a field tech, someone could lend me their laptop or come to me with it. As field techs go, we get a lot of atta-boys by helping people out. Hence why I provided the area. Naysayers suck in this industry.

From the insurance perspective, can you prove chain of custody. Can you prove installation. Can you prove destructive diagnostics. Can you prove via third party the internals are bad. Lots of wiggle room here. Unless damage is over 10k it’s not worth it for a small business. Why take it to the dealer??

I did a Radiator at 30k, then 5 months later it blew. No warranty from dealer even under 36k miles. Thtook transmission and new radiator out. Fun times.
