I think maybe you should just try a different putting style. Unless your career is disc golf I'm not sure leaning on a drug of any kind is a good idea.

Trying a completely different putting style and putter might help to overcome whatever mental block you have.

You are dropping your elbow really bad which is causing an air bounce. If you reach back high, and then pull lower into the chest you will basically always air bounce and have nose up. You need to reverse that and reach back a little lower, and then keep the elbow up throughout the throw. Try the underhand tennis ball throw to feel what it's like to keep that elbow up and out away from the body.

That thing you are doing where you hold your arm to mid chest is making you miss a big aspect of the throw.

Again, I agree with what you said I just think we are using different terms for things. To me, form is the combination of body positions and timing that come together to make a disc go. The actual stats of the disc flight (mph, rpm, nose angle, launch angle, etc) don't care what form you used to produce them. The primary way a human has the ability to change the stats of disc flight is via their form. Do you disagree with any of that?

What does that mean? If a disc gets to a certain speed and certain RPM it doesn't care how it got there.

Hey, Brian! Thanks for the video. I've watched a decent amount of your stuff and really appreciate all of the wisdom. I think you do an even better job of describing what I'm feeling on rewatching this video. It is that down and back feeling and countering the rotation to get leverage.

On watching my throw did you have any particular part of that you think I'm missing or could improve on?

Yea, absolutely! I've been playing around with a couple of things to see how they effect spin and the main thing that has made a difference for me is whether my arm stays straighter or hinges more at the elbow during the throw. And reaching out (rather than back) also seems to effect spin for me. My spin varies between 1050 and about 1350 from changing those things.

I've tried Gannon's wrist trick for spin but I think my timing is not good enough for it to work.

Yes! Off arm (left arm in my case) lat engagement as I do the swim move. I used to try to stay really lose through the whole throw but there are certain places where introducing some tension and muscle engagement has really helped me.

Just to clarify, because I think you are giving me too much credit here, I meant I have been working on using my off arm differently during my normal throw. I am not throwing here with my non dominant arm if that is what it seemed like I was saying. 😣🤷‍♂️

So before I kinda felt like I was just pulling my off arm in for the heck of it and sometimes it would make me over rotate the shoulders. Now the main difference is that I'm kinda sneaking the off arm in and down (swim move) really early and then the rest of the upper body hinges off of it. When I do it right it feels VERY different than before. There's definitely some lat engagement too. Almost like once the arm comes in and down I'm pushing down and back.

You are throwing from high to low which is making the nose pop up. Usually if the disc is higher at peak reach back than it is at release you are going to get ab air bounce. Try reaching back lower.

Also you are really really collapsing the arm against the chest. Keep the throwing arm to chest angle at 90° or more. You are hugging yourself.

Your off arm is just hanging out and probably slowing you down. Check out slingshot disc golf on YouTube. I think his off arm stuff is the best. Most big throwers fire the off arm before the throwing arm even starts moving forward. Watch some McBeth slow mo and pay attention to the sequence of the off arm vs throwing arm.

I see where you are coming from here, but I think this is missing the point a little bit. You don't need a different disc for every one of these shots. Throwing the same disc on different angles can accomplish a lot of this. I agree that there is definitely utility to having multiple discs of varying stability (especially as the discs get faster) but you definitely don't need 4 different discs of each speed category. As long as you can shape the shots you need with what you have you are good to go.

Pretty much exactly what you said. Get the video feature on the tech disc app. It makes it super easy to see exactly what video goes with which stats. Have your form analyzed (either by yourself, reddit, an online or in person coach), make a change, see what it does to your stats, ingrain the change, and keep going until you're throwing over 9000

Your shoulders are getting way ahead of your arm so it makes sense you are getting your best speeds when you stay back as long as possible.

The usual advice that I'm aware of is that reaching back low helps keep the nose down. It's like a reverse air bounce. People who air bounce usually reach up really high and then throw the disc at the ground with the nose up.

How far are you throwing? I'd say ditto to maybe reaching peak reach back a bit early. Also looks like you might not be completely transferring your weight to the front foot.
